you mean this pos? (http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/10056953/Images/spoiler_Type3_black.jpg)...theres a reason its dirt cheap. Take the $50 youre looking to spend and start saving for some performance mods.

a REFLASH and a uppipe should be the first mods you do. they are the most power gaining mods per cappa. besides a turbo back exhaust with no cats. a BOV is a bad first mod. you will be running rich inbetween shifts so you will have power lag whn you get on it. and when running normal you will be running lean.
also a drop in K&N filter or a short ram intake will give you some more power and you will hear your turbo. but if you do the intake take the BOV off.

have you looked into a used accessport? it's a very safe mod to start, your parents wont know, adds some extra features and a decent bit of performance.

Bingo. Thats going to be my first mod if I can ever scrape up some extra cash. After that Im going with the TurboXS stealthback, which might be a good idea for you if you cant do a full exhaust. Its a turboback that bolts up to the stock muffler, so you dont get the loudness of a normal aftermarket exhaust. Your parents might go for that. It costs ~$700, though.

That and if you already have one on the car (i.e. stock spoiler) you'll have to fill the holes and drill new ones. :thumbdwn:

what brand intake do you guys recamand for a 05 wrx ?????would also have to advise against an intake. you get no gains out of it and it will be more of a pain then anything. your best first mod honestly is some form of EM. dont just buy parts that are cheaper for the sake of having them. save your money for one that will actually make a difference.

better tires and handling mods will make your car faster. get some 17x8's wrapped in some nice rubber and a rear sway bar. then get some power steering bushings followed by some rear crossmember bushings. Whitline makes some great products for bushings. and for a rear sway bar i would recomend a IPD set. it is 24mm, 22, 20 adjustable and comes with all of the hardware, bushings, and your handling will be a HUGE differance

my opinion these = http://www.aserbut.net/images/clay-a%20bowl%20of%20rice%201.jpg
the only time crome looks good on black is when you do it right. i would go with some black or gunmetal rims. tint the windows and black out the rear lights.

then i would recomend a rota 17x8 with 225x45x17
rotas are a great wheel that are mde to last. yea they copy some other brands but they look great and they are cheap. and they are on the light side of the house.

07-26-2005, 04:58 PM
you should put an STi wing on it
BrewPuBeaver

up pipe for a wrx Perrin. please do not get one with a flex joint. the up pipe doesnt move. the whole engine moves...
down pipe. i would recomend a bellmouth design that is 3 inches with out a cat.

Park bench wing? That's the one I have on my car... Give me a break. There are bigger ones out there (read: STi wing).

And here I thought the term "bench racing" was around long before the wings... :P

I didn't say 'parkbench' in a derogatory sense. I simply meant a certain style, two (+ or -) inward posts/stands with a horozontal platform and vertical 'wings'.
The STi is not a 'parkbench' style, more like a shopping cart handle :dunce:

That's my car, and going from the 16x6.5's to the 17x8's was a nice change. It handles a lot better than before. Much better feel.

+2 I have the same exhaust and love it. I have nothing but good things to say about it.

I've got the Cobb DP, the one w/ the high flow. Works for me. I've even had somebody say they wanted to trade me for their catless version.
