ok, so i've put this off fora while since last time something got grounded and it schocked the hell outa me. but is it ok to upgrade the coil and alternator wires to a 10, or possibly 8 gauge wire? cause it needs replaced and the 2.00 dollars for 20 feet of 8 gauge wire is a lot cheaper then a brand new wiring harness.

I would say there is nothing wrong with larger wiring.

i would stick to original gauge. larger gauges create much more resistance for the flow of electricity... meaning less efficiency and power.
