FUCK those classic car insurance companies. I have 2 other primary vehicles, my car is stored in a locked garage with one tiny window, and I have a safe driver status on my license, yet they still won't insure me because I don't have 10 years of driving experience. Grundy and Hagerty can especially lick me... front to back.

I have found Hagerty to be one of the most affordable but you have to have another vehicle as your primary. Coverage value is also negotiable which is pretty cool.

Glad to hear your not bitter Frank .

I know what you mean though, they all have stipulations. Blazer - I have heard the same about Hagerty, and that people who have had to make claims have had little problems w/ them. Only reason I don't have it is because, like you said, I don't have another vehicle in my name w/ full coverage as a driver. I haven't had to make a claim w/ Allstate :knocks on wood: yet, but it works for me. It's insured w/ my appraisal.

Hagerty gave me great quotes actually. I think for full coverage it was $300 a year for the SS. You know, except for the fact that I'm considered a risk.

Maybe try some of the others. I don't know if they would be the same criteria, but there were some listed that I had never heard of before.

My policy on the Cobra is through Collector Car Insurance, Inc. of Spencerville, IN. http://collectorcarins.com/

It's underwritten through Great American Insurance Group. http://www.greatamericaninsurance.com

$250/year for full coverage on the Cobra.

Sorry Frank, they typical restrictions apply.... Give them a call though... they may have another company they can underwrite you through without the age restriction.

Hey! I've been known to hit some older ass. I think my peak was 32 years old when I was 22 years old. 10 year disparty in ass should automatically compensate for a 10 year driving record. That being the case, I want some cheap insurance.
