hey guys, im gonna be buying a 86 ranger from a friend...it runs pretty well but he said sometimes when hes on his way to work, as soon as he parks in the parking spot it dies, does that sound like a clogged cat to you? it also smells wierd kinda like sulfur (sp)...but im gonna buy it as soon as i get rid of my prelude...but i plan ok buying it cause its pretty reliable...its got 190,000 mi. on the chassis but the motor isnt the original motor or tranny...what do you guys think the problem is, and do u think its a good deal? i mean i know its an 86 but i need to pay off some bills and need something more reliable...any help would be greatly appriciated..thanks..:-D :dunno:

you can get a high flow cat from summit or whereever for cheap. no need to get an expensive oem unit. dont just hollow it out. besides being a federal crime, it doenst do shit for a stock truck, and unless you put a pipe in place of it, it actually creates an expansion chamber which hurts performance even more.
