Probably need to have your name on the list before Tuesday. E-mail bam2002@tampabay.rr.com for that. If you have already had your name added to the BMW list previously, no need to do it again. It is good for the entire season.

Sounds like it could be fun. As I understand it, they tend to run faster courses than what we typically see at an SCCA event. Any idea what the entry fee is? I didn't notice it on the linked site.

According to this, it was $25 with lunch included...

I will be. Don't know if I'll be driving the FFR or if I'll have it on the trailer though.

They run very fast courses... last one out there I was redlining 3rd gear in two different sections.

w00t! Of course.. there's a 40-50% chance of rain on Sunday... :(

I hope to make it to this event, but am still without a tire - I've been out of town. If I'm going to get one by Sunday, I'll need to find a local dealer with tires IN STOCK. Does anyone know a tire dealer that actually keeps Kumho Ecsta MX in stock? I've called most off the Kumho dealers (listed on their web site) in this area, and haven't found the first one who has even heard of the tire without looking it up in a book, let alone keep it in stock. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck with that...... I seriously doubt you'll find one. Tirerack. UPS next day is going to be your only shot.

$63 for overnight shipping. F##k that. It will be here on Monday... just in time for nothing.

I'm hoping to make it out to this one, it's been a while!

Rosko, what size tires are you looking for and what size/pattern wheels? I have MXs in 17s on my car, if the wheels will fit you can put them on since I'll have my R tires on, unless it's raining! I believe mine are 5x120.

I've got a set of 245/45/17 victoracers on 17x8's I"m not using. Ford 5 lug pattern. 5x4.5" (5x114.3). There's about enough tread for an event or two on them.

Wow, that's really generous. I use 245/45/17 tires with 17x8 inch, 30mm offset rear wheels. Unfortunately, the wheel is 5x114. Otherwise you can bet I'd take that offer. Thanks, Jamal. If anyone has an extra wheel/tire that fits the bill, let me know.

You missed my post Rosko.....

Lug pattern will work. Wheel size is the same. My offset is 43mm though. It's only 1/2 inch... it might work for a day......

Please excuse the 'newb' question... but regarding some of the previous posts, do they still conduct these events if there is rain? Within reasonable limits of course I assume? I figure it'd be fun to test out the AWD dancing within some cones.

Yes - We ran rain or shine.
Driving in the rain is a good car control learning experience.
We would stop running if the thunder and lightning got too close for the corner workers or for any other safety reason.

You missed my post Rosko.....

Sorry Leonard, I don't know how I missed it. Yeah, I think it would work. That's another really generous offer. Thanks. The bad news is I just attempted to get childcare coverage from the old people (a.k.a. the grandparents). They won't be able to watch the boy, so I won't make it. Thanks just the same, though. Have fun out there.

I just loaded the car up for the event. I've added a pair of ski goggles to my autocross kit. I REALLY need to get an enclosed trailer....
