I bought mine 6 months ago or so, got the loan by myself (no co-signer) pay insurance and buy my mods...but then again I'm 23 and graduated college already. However I don't know why but for some reason I decided to go to Graduate school (expensive as hell) and I can still make all my payments on everything. They're not THAT expensive

Heh, I had a Mustang GT prior to my SRT-4, had a Saleen blower on it and everything, my insurance went down a whole 100 bucks a year from a 2 door V-8 to a 4 door 4 cylinder Neon...sucks

Yeah buying from the dealer doesn't really mean much, now if you mean buying new vs. used than yeah of course you're better off buying new. But dealers can have cars from all kinds of people, at least when you deal w/ a private seller you can get a feel for who owned the car, used at a dealership is a crapshoot

Only way I would buy a used one is if I didn't need it for a daily driver, and planned on Rebuilding everything and shooting for 500+ HP neither of which I plan on so I bought a new one with a warranty. As far as how to purchase it, the more cash you put down, the less you finance which requires less credit to do. I traded in with negative equity also but had good credit and only put $700 down so my payment is like having an 1 bedroom apartment but having the wife as the primary driver keeps the insurance down.
