350Z vs SL500 (new)

Ok, so obviously a S/C 350Z is gonna take a SL500, whoop-dee-doo, but the story's funny.

Soo, as Im driving down A1A near Cocoa Beach, a guy rolls up in his SL500 beside me. Him and his gf look over and give the "rich guy stare" and kinda of laugh as he takes off. I didn't bother going to 9mpg to show him a thing. But after about 5 times of him taking off and laughing, I let him take off one more time, and passed him by fairly easily, right in front of the classic Ron Jon's Surf Shop. What's funny is, he asks "what you got in that thing?" And I reply "Supercharged, some bolt ons". He replies "Well that's why, I only have a V8, you have a supercharged V8". As I explain to him how he has a 5.0L V8 and I have a 3.5L V6, he becomes upset that his money must have gone to waste. He then replies "Well, we have a SL55 AMG too, and that would give you a better run for the money..that's a supercharged V8". I agreed. He then added "But my mom wont let me drive that"...The Sad Part:

He looked 29.

I am surprised that any race would happen on A1A in front of RonJon's considering the traffic, pedestrians, cops, and 35-45MPH zones... I don't think I have ever seen anything remotely like a race there... now, head west to the mall... that's another story... :mrgreen:

Yeah it was a terrible place to race, but couldn't pass on the opp. to kick the guy's smart lil' ass. No, my car is silver. And the SL55 AMG from what I read is only getting high 12s...I wouldn't call that a raping vs. a blown Z. If anything, it would be dead even or him walking away. However, I dont see alot of SL55's at the track, and don't know if anyone is getting better times out of them. I drove one, and it felt pretty dang juicy for sure...but that's besides the point....

Ya sorry it was an XKR not XJR I always get the 2 confused, I'm not too familiar with imports lol. But it was a Certified used one that's why it was cheaper. It was a 2003 with like 17,000 miles on it. And to the smart ass, Boostin97SE-R, lol :-) I have my C4 because I bought it like 2 1/2 years ago and since they eliminated the steel rollbar safety feature in 1998 when they switched to the C5's, I went with this C4 (Plus it was the prettiest one lol)- it's not my only car, it's my daily driver/weekend street racer lol- I also own a Silver Mint 1964 Corvette with a 427 CI motor and mad Nitrous THAT'S MY REAL RACER. So, hope that clears everything up. And so I was just thinking of using the money I was going to spend on the Jag and just put it into my C4- Bigger motor (perhaps 383 with of course Nitrous), new paint job- chameleon royal purple to magenta pink (I know it's a chick thing lol), new rims, etc, plus I would have some pocket change- but I dont know yet I'm still weighing my options. My boyfriend who has 3 insane BMW's (1 turbo, 1 supercharged, 1 daily driver) is trying with every last ounce of hope in his body to convince me to get a new M5- which I think is an excellent car. It's kinda funny if he only knew- I see his cars and think "Hmmmm, I could deal with this" Lol.
