Not sure if it goes here or in GCC so I posted this in both....
My Father said he wants a floor jack... and that Sears has one on sale for $29.99... it's a 2.25 ton jack.
My question is.. how much does the... I think 2001.... F-150 weigh... just want to make sure he doesn't need the 3 ton jack....
Thanks, folks.

I personally would go with a jack that had a bigger cradle Like this 3-ton. (http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=00950186000) Also you will get a wider and longer stance with the 3-ton which means a much more stable jack. The 2-1/4 ton will work as long as you don't try to lift the whole truck at once which you don't wanna do with the 3-ton either. Normally you would just jack up the front or back at one time and then if needed, you can put two jackstands under it and then jack up the opposite one. Because you're lifting one side at a time you never have the full weight of the truck on the jack. So if money is a big concern you will be fine with that jack just be careful.
BTW
Single cab=3,923 lbs
Extended cab=4,581 lbs
