I was just wondering if you are on tamparacing. You live in the same neighborhood as me and your car sounds nasty as hell. :nworthy:

What does this car look like?
I saw a very clean 04 last on McMullen 2 weeks ago and after scoping it out...I saw a big ole, what look like a dump in the middle of the car....but it still had exhaust pipes out the back

Looks pretty much stockish with a Agp decal on it. Also has exhaust on the side of the car. Other than that it looks stock.

Yea, its me. You should come over sometime and ill show it to ya. Its got a stupid problem at the moment though, it wobbles. I tried to fix it with some new motor mounts but that didnt do it. Anyone have any other ideas? I can better explain the problem if anyone wants to try and help.

cali, im not sure what a broken axle wobbles like. It wobbles when its under a somewhat heavy load, say 50% throttle in 4th gear. It doesnt wobble much in 1st or 2nd but once you get in the higher gears at a low rpm, say 1500-2000, it will wobble from side to side. The dodge dealer thought it was my motor mounts, so I get some psi-fi ones. That helped a little. Its still there though. When I was installing the lower motor mount, I noticed a small cut in the axles cv boot and the grease was everywhere down there. Do you think the lack of grease in that little joint could cause it to wobble like its doing? Thanks a bunch guys.

Get a new boot ASAP . Your heating the shit out of your bearings in the axles without Grease .

Fix the boot then let us know how it feels . It may already be too far gone to fix ...

I know I have to get that fixed. I will. But would something like that make the front end wobble? Could that be the problem?

Yeah hope you get the problem fixed. I gotta check out your car, I've never been in a Srt and I know yours is quick as hell. I am at my moms house right now so I live far away. I'll probably be back in a week.

yup...I vote busted axle. I think its beyond saving now.
If the boot was simply torn and some grease came out it wouldnt wobble.
If you have some mechanical inclination, download the service manual and do the diagnosis for a bad axle.
the service manual is on dodge-srt4.com I believe.

That wobbling is not a very good thing. eeekk

Im gonna take it to a friend this week and see if he can diagnose the problem. I will definately ask him about a broken axle. Do you think I coud get a used one off of the srtforums? I do have some mechanical inclination, so ill check it out. Im looking for the downloadable manual right now... Thanks a bunch cali. I hope thats the problem.

I downloaded the manual. I couldnt find anything about diagnosing problems though. Can anyone with the manual lend a hand? Thanks.

page 94 of 1771 is where it starts. I didnt read the whole thing, but I skimmed over it...it doesnt go into too much details.
