Your best bet would just be to make it yourself. it's cheap, and you'll defenitely benefit from learning how. just use 3/4" mdf bosrd, and get the internal volume to equal or be close to the recommended space for the sub, and then use pre-drilled 1.5" drywall screws and wood glue to put it all together. All you need is a jigsaw, and a drill, and ur set.

If you want it professionally done, come by SoundAdvice...Dale Mabry & Columbus. We can do anything from a simple box made specifically for your sub(s) to a full custom enclosure. Ask for John and I'll give you a discount.

Ofcourse not. They'll go as far as making the cuts for you, but I believe you usually still have to pay extra even for that.

hey that works too, I just like the idea that my silicon is squishing together between those boards eliminating every milimeter of possible escape for the puny air molecules. leaving them helpless to resist the bone crushing high PSI factor that will slowly drive them into atoms as the bass pumps....

Wood glue is what actually holds your box together. Screws just let the wood glue dry. Please take a video of a sub blowing your box to pieces once it happens with only silicon :)

Home Depot sucks ass at cutting wood, and so does Lowes. At least every location its ever been to.

+1 to adero and john. Either DIY or get it done professionally.

Silicone is much stronger than wood glue once it dries. Even without the screws for support, I can jump on a siliconed box. Please take a video of you jumping on a box made with wood glue and no screws without breaking ;)

This sounds like it could be an interesting test. It might be worth the $20 in wood and take some videos, see how much weight each will hold. Hmmmm

pm me, Buy the wood and give me 15 bucks and ill do it. I usually use staples from an air staple gun with wood glue then calk (sylicone based) for all of the seems. havent had one come apart yet.

Exactly. I've yet to see silicone caulk outperform wood glue.

btw dosent silicone flex? i use liquid nail and if you were to jump on it the wood would simply snap befor the it will come unglued. silicone is good to keep it airtight after its glued together but i cant see it holding anything together.

i have no wood glue to test that, but as soon as it stops raining ill video my 170+ lb self jumping on a silicone box with no screws.

silicone is deff. not as strong as wood glue. You may be able to jump on it but if you compare to evenly built boxes, one with wood glue and one with silicone, the wood glue will WAY out do it. as said above, its stronger then teh wood itself. For real though, If you want me to make you a box i can do it. just buyt he stuff

My ported box is held together entire from glue, and silicone for the sealing... I can jump on it for sure.

would a jigsaw cut out the circles for the subs or would u have to use a rotary saw?
