Ill let the pictures speak for themselves. I went and helped RJ pull the engine from the new VR4. Pulled the block and dissasmbled it, all in a days work. Its been a while since Ive worked on a DSM and I can honestly say I miss it. Anyway on to the pics...

Looks like your missing the pole thats supposed to fill the dent in your bumper. :haha: How did you manage to turn the motor in the opposite direction too?

It was the back of a shop in Brandon. RJ is friends with the owner. The head was already off as well as the transmission, so more or less we were just pulling the block. Just sorta tied the chain around the rear motor mount and kinda guided it out. It wasnt all bad except for the sun...

Pssssh... load levelers, who needs em!
Im surrprised the shop didnt have one. When I get around to buying my own engine crane Ill probably invest in a levler too.
With the resources though we got it done ;)

ive never needed a load leveler for a DSM, in all the engines ive pulled and installed. I just use a longer chain and then adjust which link i lift from.

There's no doubt its doable, but you can't argue for $40 especially on a 2g that the leveler is a nice thing to have.

I once almost had to resort to that. Fortunately Pep Boys had a sale on engine hoists that weekend.
