Between the offered economy mode setting, security and Stage 1+2 HP gains this looks like a good bargain for the money at $525-600....... I've read mostly good things on the large Suby board about this..... anyone here have any first hand experience on this product?

I had it for a week, it was awsome for that week. You can't lose anyways, buy it for 525 shipped sell it for 525 shipped... lose 10 bucks on shipping to find out if thats what you really want.

I've only heard good things about it, the only thing is that with the accesport is plug and play and no further tuning can be done. Every car is different so you might have more power than what's showing with their preset maps, and you can't do anything about it. The street tuner from cobb is more versatile, but more $$$. For the money is the best thing you can buy brand new, or you can try to find a used Utec or anything else.

With just exhaust and stage 2 AccessPORT, their WRX ran a 13.1...that's faster than most STis! Imagine what an STi with exhaust and an AccessPORT could do....

The Cobb Stage 2 is my next purchase, did you install it yourself. It doesn't look like it would be difficult if you have some mechanical skills.

but for $649 you can have it ecutek reflashed with a custom map. then you will have a full standalone system ;-)

yes you are right with that. i have the delta dash with my ecutek so i do all that for my CELs also. i just dont see too many big# set ups using the AP. most of the time i only see it with basic bolts ons. i guess it depends on what your goals are with the car

Access port is cool if you just want that extra kick in hp and do not want to worry about tuning or maximizing Hp for the mods you have.

Yes, the AccessPort seems like a great purchase for moderate bolt-ons. The economy map isn't bad either, especially with gas costs these days. Also, there are other maps like Valet, etc. It even allows you to run up to a VF34 or a VF30 according to the maps on their website. I have been thinking about either the Cobb AccessPort or an EcuTek reflash for quite some time.
I don't mean to thread hijack, but what are the nearest EcuTek reflash and/or dynotune facilities in this area [if there are any]? I ask, because if I could help it, I'd rather not have to send my ECU all the way to Vishnu if I had to...

None in Florida, however there is PDX and Kingpin.......I have heard good things about both. Also Vishnu as you know. Honestly, I went w/ UTEC because of the convenience, there are two tuners nearby. One of which being CFT who have some high power WRX's that are daily driven and they have tuned countless WRX's all around Florida, the other being Coastal( they have tuned like 2 WRX's and they both don't run now........I don't recommend them unless you have a mustang;) .
Also the Cobb is working off base maps which were tuned in a different climate and altitude so to prevent the average car from running lean Cobb makes the maps super rich, which is pretty much the same for Ecutek unless it is being dyno tuned.( Mastro was the only one that did this)

Still don't see why you don't take the loss of 10 whole bucks and just try it out. If you don't like it re-sell it. I bought mine for 525 shipped and sold it for 515 pick up in less than a day.

I have a 2002 Wrx Stage 2 Cobb also. It is awesome for the money. Very easy to use and I will try to use the 91 oct economy mode soon and see if it works. The disadvantages is that you are limited limited to turbos (vf34,vf39,and I think vf22) and only sti topmount , but streettuner changes that.
