can you bend just one valve? maybe rod knock?

I imagine if you have a bent valve, you wont be able to drive long. Probably spun a bearing, does it knock when its first started up, and then fade away until you drive.

well it shouldn't be a spun bearing cause i just replaced the crank, oil pump, main bearings and rod bearings, and did a timing belt and water pump less than a month ago, plus i droped the oil pan and all the rods were tight and there was no metal in the oil.

and i dosent knock on start up, only when i hit 3000 rpm, and it smokes at idle, thats why im suspecting a valve

Do you have the balance shafts you could have knocked out one or both of the bearings for the BS's.

i bent all my intake valves once.... I was able to drive it up and down the street, but there was no way I would take it into traffic.

i still have the balence shafts, well only one cause i didnt put the belt back on one of them. and if the one on the oip pump got messed up wouldnt it drop or lose oil pressure?

-nothing to do with the topic...
I have driven my car with a valve that did not seal correctly and it yes it did idle abnormally. However the car was drivable. How do you know for sure you have a bent valve unless you have done a compression test?

Nothing to do with topic? have you ever experienced a bearing that has been knocked out of the block? I dont think you have. One the problem he is having is a knocking noise from 3k to 5k which is the exact range where the BS's come into play,If you dont have them removed.Seeing how he only has the BS that is connected to the oil pump gear that is most likely his problem,as the motor is not equally balanced in the higher rpm's which it was designed for. Right now with only having one bs spinning is like having 900# on a person's right arm and nothing on the other.
Before you make a remark about what other people say to help someone else out make sure you know WTF you are talking about first.

Ok, I will list everything i have done to try and fix the problem, first thing the motor spun a bearing on cylinder 3., I then replaced the crank and all the bearings. when i took off the timing belt cover i noticed that the balence shaft belt was broken, but it didnt do anything to the timing belt, but i replaced it anyway, the balence shaft on the left(not connected to the oil pump)was froze, so i just didnt put a new b on it. i decided to change the oil pump since the bs was froze and the bearings were scorched. i also did the waterpump. i took off the egr valve to make sure it was opening and closing and it was working fine, the only thing i can think of that happend is that while putting the new crank in and spinning it to make sure it was free i could have bent a valve or something. i guess i will try what quadzilla said and remove the balence shafts with the kit and see what happens
