i bought my dad a system for his b-day n i gotta wire it up for him now. ive done alot of instals but never on a stock head unit. all the installs ive done there are sub out rca wires in witch you just run to the amp.. first question is what do u do when there no rca outputs? 2nd question is he wants a volume controll near him but the amp dosent have an external volume controll option. is there another way to wire one up?

Yes you are looking for a line output converter.

If you wire up the line output converter in the dash instead of the rear deck or wherever else, then you can put a knob in line with the RCA cable. I had one waaay back in the day, it just goes in between the line output converter and the RCA cable running to the amp. Should be able to get one at custom shops...I know we dont have them at CC, but I got mine at A and B Audio in tarpon before i figured out they were ghetto.

is it like a volume control nob that i could mount on his dash or center councle or will it be under the seat(where im mounting the Line-Out Converter) there is a stock subwoofer under the seat that im removing and just using the speaker wires there to wire up the Line-Out Converter.

It can be anywhere you want it, on the dash or center console or anywhere. Since you are tapping into the LOC under the seat, youll probably need to run a short RCA cable from the LOC to the knob, then a normal one from the knob to the amp.

You can always run a LOC off the rear speakers, and use the fader to be a "volume" control. Fade to the front, no sub..
