I currently have the older model infinity reference subs in my explorer. All 4 speakers are being fed by a 400 watt 2 chan hifonics amplier. The speakers get damn loud but they are soooo tweety (infinity is famous for its highs) I was thinking of getting some alpine speakers in hopes of getting a speaker that will play for vocals and not so much highs/tweets. What do you guys think?

Not that Im hating on Type S speakers because I used to have some back in the day, and they did just fine, but your just going from one CC/BB brand to another. Save up and get something really nice instead of cheap deals on ebay for CC/BB stuff.

For example Im almost positive my next mids will be Resonant Engineering XXX. Theyre fucking beasts.

Well I really didnt wanna go into the whole comp set deal, just wanted better speakers to bring out the vocals more because infinity is too much high tweet

I dont care if its CC brands, I spent most of the money on my subs

I wish I could tell you how mine sounds.. but its not installed yet... I just picked up a great deal on crutchfield.... one Alpine type S 12'' sub, and 175w Alpine mono amp...
$269 free shipping I personally think its gonna knock dick! I always had rockford but I was up for a change.. I'll let ya know

Otherwise Alpine has been a decent name brand for a long time.. I think you are more than safe....

Put some carpet over your tweeters.
