Got to be a little more specific  Theres too many variables here.
are you looking for a project?
what do you plan to do w/ it, show, race?
what do you consider a decent price?
etc., etc...
I found mine on the side of the road :dunno:

$1000-10,000 is a big range. Is this going to be your first car and daily driver? Keep that in mind, if your still in school (I'm guessing by looking at your profile) you may want something that you won't have to sink a lot of money into right away.
Granted I bought mine 11 yrs ago, and paid $1700 for it. It needed pait and body work, carpet, headliner, etc. but it was welllllllll worth it. The car was not all chopped up and I slowly started fixing it up. I ended up buying an 81 Monte Carlo for $900. I bought it just a couple months after the Chevelle. I drove it for a yr so I could take the Chevelle off the road and work on it. I then sold the Monte to finish the Chevelle. My point being I found a good deal and grabbed it. The Monte was another great deal and great timing so I could pull the motor in the Chevelle. I didn't plan any of it it just kinda happened.
If you find something already done, just know you will pay for it. I just like the idea of doing as much as I can myself because you have the satisfaction of saying you did it, and did it how you wanted to. I would just start looking around, see what is out there so you at least have an idea.
With enough money you can make a show car fast and race car pretty ;).
