If it is just a head gasket you need, I would skip Forward Motion. I'd suggest trying FWD Performance (www.fwdperformance.com) or Turbos Unleashed (www.turbosunleashed.com). I'd also suggest using a Mopar Performance head gasket (MP2005) and Mopar Performance head bolts. The head bolts are torque to yield and should be replaced.
The easiest way to swap a head gasket on these cars is to remove the head with manifolds and turbo as an assembly. Torque sequence for the head bolts is 45-65-65 ft-lbs and then a 1/4 turn working your way from the center bolts towards the outside bolts in a circular pattern. Just to further clarify, make sure you torque all the bolts to 45 ft-lbs before you step up to the next torque sequence of 65 ft-lbs; similarly make sure all the bolts are torqued 65 ft-lbs before your start turning them a 1/4 turn.
If you use new bolts and follow the torque sequence properly, the new headgasket should last a long time, baring extreme cases of course.
Good luck :)

ok, so i have it and it turns out it is an 86 omni glh turbo.. not 's'... sigh.. but it does have a full roll cage, racing bucket, sheet metal dash with all autometer gauges and 5 stock wheels. whats this thing worth in decent shape? i have some cleaning up to do on it and need to fix the headgasket (i might just sell it as is, just cleaned up)

"Goes Like Hell Summore" (Some More) or something along those lines. Stock GLHS's had something like ~25hp more than the stock GLH, and were intercooled.

The 2.2L with the Lotus designed DOHC head came in the Daytona IROC R/T's and Spirit R/T's of certain years.
Some people have successfully built hybrid 2.2/2.5L DOHC engines by bolting a neon 2.0/2.4L head to the 2.2/2.5L block.

I always thought those cars were hot for the time. My first experience of launching one of those without the wheels straight was scary.
And the S is for Shelby, but you guys knew that right?:-D

Hey ttawd3s,
Have your friend PM me. I'm the President of the Florida Chapter Shelby Dodge Auto Club. Go to the hyperlink. I'm interested in the car your friend has. Have him PM me if he still wants to sell it. I will tell you $2500 is a little high though. That is what a GLH-S would be worth if you had a non stock seat , sheet metal dash, etc.
