Hey folks, I just got some new wheels and decided it's time to beef up the security on the Z. I'm considering picking up a Compustar 2WSS-AS 2-way paging alarm systam. Does anyone know any shops in the area that install Compustar systems?

Thanks in advance!

Viper has terrible range, and I can't install the starter or use any of the functions like the timer on my 6mt car.

I'm just thinking what's the purpose of a pager if it doesn't work well through walls? And even then, why pay for a $500+ alarm/install when I can't use all of its functions? I'm pretty sold on the Compustar. Trust me, I'd go viper all the way if I drove an auto.

Ahh yes, I guess google did own me. I'm trying to find anywhere that is recommended and might do some good work, as well.

I know people with remote start, timer and all the shebang functions of the high end DEI
alarms on a manual car

<--- has installed high end Viper alarms on MT cars. I dont want those timer crap alarms that are meant for MT anyway, where you have to put it in timer mode every time you leave the car for it to remote start next time. Fuck that.

Guess what kind of car has a neutral safety switch wire on the ECU, that reads ground when in neutral? Jesse you guessed it, a maxima! (Apparently Im a huge maxima geek :dunno: )

my friend is a certified alarm installer, he has the same alarm in his taurus, call him up for a price 727 432 2096 Anthony and tell him Chris sent u

the sweetest feature on that car is the temperature sensor, if your car gets too hot inside, the alarm will start your car and in turn, turn on the AC

Thanks Import6666, I'll give him a call tomorrow and see what he has to say!

Oh, and in the original post I was actually referring to the turbo timer feature. If I get an alarm with a starter, I want one with a turbo timer so I can keep my interior clean of unwanted gadgetry.

Certified viper installers won't install auto start alarms (791) on mt cars. From everything I hear it's actually illegal. If they DO install it, it's probably a guy doing it from his garage that doesn't really give a shiet if your car slams into a wall or whatever.

Compustar alarms have safety functions that keep the vehicle from starting when in gear, etc. I'd feel a lot better knowing my system had that. The range on the pager is a nice plus too.

I guess Im a certified Python installer through CC :dunno:
Yes Viper says it voids the warranty if its installed on a MT, but theres ways around that. On alarms I do on the side Id never install one without some type of switch, whether its a magnetic one attached to the shifter itself in the console, or whatever is needed.

But whatever as long as your happy with it thats all that counts
