Default Short shifter question?

Sorry to keep bothering you seasoned nissan pros with extra gay questions, but I just ordered a shortshifter and after the fact realized that I ordered it for a 89-94 240sx. I was wondering if that is compatible with a sr20det tranny - I've heard the trannys are similar -aside from the bell housing, but will I be able to use this shortshifter with my sr? thanks again buddies

The shifters are interchangeable ... from my understanding the transmissions are internally identical (gearing aside). But the major diffrences lie in the bellhousings.

that shifter will work on 240's, silvia's, 180's, and most skylines!

Isn't the RB20DET and R33 RB25DET basically beefed up versions of the s13/s14 sr20det(rwd ka) transmissions with diffrent bellhousing orientations ?

depends on the tranny. there are some RB's that had a veyr large tranny, and some with trannies based on the 240 tranny

I have a Nismo short shifter, I'd really like to see how the B&M is.

B&M I think is the best but any short shifter that lets you shift gears smoothly and quickly without the delay and letting back pressure get to the turbo in between shifts is great all i care about is when I shift out of 25 psi at 8000rpm I want it to be right back into like 20psi in the next gear oh yeah and mine is on a ka tranny now too with a SR bell housing works great and you can get the tranny's for like $50

Go and find someone with a B&M on their 240 and ask them if you can play with the shifter a bit. Or stoop down and ask anyone with a Mustang equipped with an aftermarket shifter the same. Very similer feel, very taut, very previse, not for everyone. It is certainly a step up from stock or the crapass OBX DIY shifter conversion.

I have a B&M shifter and would not use anything out there but the B&M. Have tried others and they fell short.
