For all those who plan on attending the Saturday portion of the Auburndale Event ( as referenced in several other threads):
The event will now begin at 8:00 AM and will continue until approximately 8-9PM with some kart/trick bike action interspersed in a few short segments throughout the day. 8AM means 8AM - Enjuku and some others are currently camped out on the facility as I type this. For those who do not have to work or don't have prior engagements, this means that for the same $25 you can now have virtually ALL DAY to drift.
The price for the event HAS NOT changed.
The track can still be found at:
5640 State Road 542 W
Winter Haven, FL 33880-5120
Enjuku is trying is trying its hardest to ensure that the event is fun and safe for everyone. There were problems beyond Enjuku's control which lead to the event being shut down shortly after it began, which was really unfortunate and forced us to scramble to recover. For drivers who paid and registered (and you know who you are), you will be contacted regarding compensation if you have not been already.
Although DGtrials is not officially involved, we try and help out wherever we can, and Enjuku is essentially family.
Just wanted update everyone on what's going on at the current point in time.

Tell Rob that if the 'Promotor' is going to send refunds, that's cool, but if the $$$ has to come out of Enjuku's pocket, I don't want it...save it for Chicago and consider it a donation. I already personally re-imbursed my passenger, so we are all cool now.

I showed up at 2:55 and fucking as soon as we get there, we're turned around and made to drive back without drifting or seeing any drifting. The red tires leave red marks on the ground, pretty sweet. Taylor said his motor blew on the second run. I showed up ready to video tape and all i got was disappiontment. Pics will come later from Squints.

Yeah... So, we start our day off at about 2 PM when we jump on 275 N. Go through all of the tolls (Which equals $5.00 for through and back). We're finally there on this nice day. In the exact words of Sucio "Congradulations, you came, but we're leaving." So, this sucks, ya know the flyer said until 8-9 PM. But anyway, it wasn't that big of a deal. Since I didn't get any drifting pictures. Here is some aftermath right before we're leaving. And ground level track pics. I think the track looked nice, and I liked the design. Sorry to Enjuku as this was a fund raiser, but I wasn't there long enough to give you funds. Too bad...

The Auburndale show Friday opened gates at 5pm for everyone. Gates were open for participants at 10am. The enjuku team didn't start the drifting until most of the people that were with their team and entourage were present. Then they had to do a walk thru of the track, car inspections, and ride alongs. It took more than 2 hours and it ran until pretty much everyone was getting tired. Five O was being retarded about people staying there but go figure. Saturday had drifting all day long and some pocket rocket stunt team doing tricks. Track Owner took it upon themselves to shut the gates and have everone leave. Even the event coordinators had to leave. The head track lady closed everything and pretty much screwed over everyone by not giving any explanation to the participants and spectators + cutting out so early. From what I know the hotline for the show was blowin up after 3 with people asking for directions and calling to make sure things were still on and saying they were stuck in traffic due to accidents. Friday produced some serious accidents in the central florida area, one dude had a bike fold up on him on I4 word has it like a pocket knife. Who knows. Drifting was awesome at the event though. There is possibly talk of a more genre focused event for drifting or the like thereof in the future to be held elsewhere than Auburndale Speedway. Check out the drifting forums for more info on what happened with the track owners and stuff.

It was clearly stated to US <----the drifters!....that we would not be on track till 8pm at the earliest. So what if the gates were open at 10am...some of us have jobs. Whoever was stupid enough to plan an event on a Friday BEFORE a 3 day weekend needs to have there heads checked. Did they honestly think that everybody would just play hooky at work to goto BFE?
It took more than 2 hours and it ran until pretty much everyone was getting tired.
I do not know 1 single driver friday night that 'was getting tired'. There were even drivers in line that didn't even get 1 chance to get on the track.
Five O was being retarded about people staying there but go figure.
no clue what you are talking about

so who owns this track? where was he? why did he leave his 80 year old grandmother in charge?
Drifting was awesome at the event though.
glad you enjoyed it

You speak as if you know something....but you do not. Auburndale was not the 'FIRST' Drift event in Florida....hell, not even the first event in Pasco County.
To Date:
DGTrials has held 6 public events in Ocala, Bradenton, and St Pete
DGtrials has held 1 event in Hialeah
Ter-Tech has held maybe 4-5 events in Hialeah
Miles held at least 3 events at the USA speedway in Lakeland.
Drifting is here to stay, it's been here, and it's not going anywhere. We will not let some 80 year old grandma give us grief. Nice facility, too bad I will NEVER go back. Negative press is a bitch.

i want to thank everyone who attended this weekend, and came out to try and have a good time.
There are still some issues to be ironed out, as this is our first experience event wise with MSBA and Auburndale Speedway. Regardless of this weekend, if there is a future event, it will be a strict agreement between Enjuku and Auburndale. There was a definite miscommunication going on between us, the Street Fest organizers, and the track owners. Our drifting session was part of the 'Street Fest' event going on fri/sat, and because the entire event (with the exception of the drifting participants) brough little to no attendance, the plug was pulled by the owners of the facility.
I do appreciate everyones attitudes despite the problems. This will be a non-issue entirely in the future if we continue to work with Auburndale.

I'm glad that you (Rice Rocket) can point out things to glorify yourself. The Kumho Street Warriorz show at Lakeland was held on a Friday, gates opened at 5pm. There was over 5,000 people in attendance, traffic backed up down the main road both ways, down Interstate 4 and other roads. So tell me again that people would not show up on a Friday. I worked with the Street Warriorz event as well as this one so who are you to say that I don't know what is going on. I know as well that this is not the first drifting event in Florida. I know there's other places that sanction events like Ocala Grand Prix, Hialeah, and etc. So I'm not trying to be a dick and say that it was a great show. I was just trying to relay some information of what really went on other that what is heard through the grapevine. If this is not sufficient enough then don't listen to what I have to say. On that note, have a great day.

I had NO PROBLEM on I-4 on Friday...I got there at a decent time....
So shows can be successful on fridays? haha....this one turned out great, didn't it.
Whatever...I paid $25 for 3 runs and a lot of headaches.

I thought you were one of the ones who said they would not be there when the talk first started about this event? whichever. I apologize for your headaches. I wish everyone could be as smart as you. I cower to your highness. HA!

Eye Race.
You must be Dave from MSBA.
After speaking to the Sherriff's who shut down the event on Saturday, they personally told me that the person who called the police to have us leave was the event promoter. That would be yourself of Jose. I find it hard to believe that the drifters, who had 4 Days Notice of this event, showed up with greater numbers on both days, than the Minibikes, Go karts, Car stereo guys, Car Show guys, and spectators combined.
This thread is closed, this discussion is over. If you have any questions you can contact me personally and we can handle the invoice that has been left unpaid for Enjuku's time at the event, as well as any possibilities of future events.
There are a couple of problems with the statement you typed below.
The Auburndale show Friday opened gates at 5pm for everyone. Gates were open for participants at 10am.
http://www.tamparacing.com/photopost/data/500/flyer_back.jpg
However, when you look at the schedule that was origionally given, it shows that the gates were open to VENDORS at 10am, not Participants. Participants were allowed to enter at 12noon.
Look further down and you see that drifting was not to start until 5:00pm.
However, we needed at least 4 hours of uninterrupted track time, so that was pushed to 8:30-9pm area depending on how smoothly your show was running. Even in all of the traffic, the Enjuku Racing Renegade showed up at 7:00pm, with 1.5 hours of time to set-up, tech cars, walk the course, and ensure safety at the event.
The enjuku team didn't start the drifting until most of the people that were with their team and entourage were present. Then they had to do a walk thru of the track, car inspections, and ride alongs. It took more than 2 hours and it ran until pretty much everyone was getting tired.
Safety simply cannot be overlooked. Not only did we have to talk to fire marshalls and safety officials, we also had to talk at length with the drivers about areas to be careful of, because the cones that you had promised us, as well as the flags that you promised us were not available for use on Friday. We had to work around that, and we did, without fail. This has been the first event on an ovalspeedway with walls where there were no accidents.
You say it ran until pretty much everyone was gettting tired? How about antsy? How about excited and anxious?? The drivers couldn't WAIT to get on the track, but they knew how important safety is!
Five O was being retarded about people staying there but go figure.
In talking to the Polk County Sherriff both days, on the 27th, and 28th, they had no problems with us staying at the track in our rig. What they didn't want were people camping out in large numbers at the event. In no way shape or form were they being 'retarded'. Illegal Assembly is illegal assembly.
Saturday had drifting all day long
I'm sorry but 8am to 2pm is NOT drifting all day long. All day events, such as DG Trials events, have participants on the track from 8am to 5-6pm in many events. A typical work day is from 8-5. At most, the time on Saturday can be called a half-day of drifting.
Track Owner took it upon themselves to shut the gates and have everone leave.
I already mentioned this above, but in talking directly with the sherriffs who made everyone leave, they clearly stated that it was the promoters who called, the track OWNER was not even in Florida at this event, and the promoters were the ones to make the final call, as the track was theirs for the event.
From what I know the hotline for the show was blowin up after 3 with people asking for directions and calling to make sure things were still on and saying they were stuck in traffic due to accidents.
I don't know where the traffic and accidents were, but it was not on I-4 in either direction. We had no problem driving on I-4 from 2:45-4:45 in the Rig, as well as the rest of the cars who were driving back to Tampa and Orlando. In both directions I-4 was clear. Road work and traffic delays on I-4 are at night, not during the day, as from mile 27 to mile 55 there is lots of road work going on through I4. visit www.i4polk.com for more information on the interstate's status.
