This year's CFR autocross at Sebring has been cancelled!!

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we've had to cancle this year's autocross at Sebring. Esssentially, in an effort to cut costs, the track management has left it in the 12 hour configuration which doesn't leave us a wide enough surface to run a safe and fun course.

We are working to replace this event with a Brooksville event in June.

My apologies for any inconvenience this has caused.

Damn! And I had a damn SUITE at Kenilworth, too! They were sold out of double doubles so they upgraded me to a suite with a king and a sofa bed, heh.

Oh well...

*cancels reservation*

Christy and I are making lemonade with this and heading down to Ft. Myers since we already arranged for my parents to watch the kids.

The tentative June Brooksville dates are the 25th and 26th. We'll probably do a double header weekend, with both days counting for points as would have been the case in Sebring. They would only be good for West coast points however. I'll start another thread if/when this tentative event becomes a real scheduled event.

Tony, I'm glad you're coming down to GCAC. It'll be nice for you to attend an event that you're not putting on. :) Planning on going both days?

You don't need anything except a safe car and a valid driver's license.

We don't concern ourselves with whether or not you've driven an emissions legal car to the site, that's law enforcement's job. Catalytic converters are not required to drive in an autocross. For your first event and untill you trophy in the class, you are allowed/encouraged to run in the Novice class. If and when you're ready to run in a defined class, not having one will affect the classes available to you. You'd probably end up in a Prepared or Modified class.

Brooksville is $30 for a non-SCCA member and $20 for an SCCA memeber. SCCA membership is $70 per year for an individual.

We now have the weekend of 6/25 and 6/26 reserved at the Brooksville site, as soon as we have SCCA sanction and insurance locked down, the event will officially be on.

Just FYI, for Brooksville events, the gates will be closed at 9:00 AM, late registration is from 9:00 to 9:15. After 9:15 there will be no further entries permitted. The late registration charge is an additional $10.

If you had read the stickies, you wouldn't be asking the questions you are asking. Come back after you've taken the first step.

And I'm working and therefore out....... prime example of why I rarely bother even looking at the CFR schedule anymore..... the schedule is set in playdoh instead of concrete.

I understand this isn't the fault of those that put many hours into organizing this all, just the nature of the beast I guess :dunno:

When you drive to Laurens SC in 25 degree weather while it's raining buckets and then go autocrossing, we can talk. Until now, you're just unlucky to get stuck in a little shower in the Florida summer.

Please keep in mind that the 25th and 26th had only been reported on as tentative dates. As I mentioned earlier I'll start a new thread when I've received confirmation that we have insurance and SCCA sanction for the event.
