Well after having my system installed ($250 just in labor) i was very unhappy with the sound of the 8's they put in. Well i went back and JJ took them back and installed a 12 in my truck. Since he was cool and didnt charge me any more labor i told the installer not to worry about removing the stealth box that held the 8's since it involved some time to remove and put the storage compartment back to stock. I said i will just take it out myself. Well i was very happy with the new 12 and came home to remove the old stealth box only to find out how lazy the installer was :wtf: . Now i have to cut the speaker wires and redo the work. All of this because i tried to save the installer somw work and this is my thank you. This is what i paid for in a "Proffesional install".Do you think i will win any shows with this work? :thumbdwn:

So you're pissed about a couple of butt splices? You'd probably throw up if you seen the wiring in my Caddy!

So you're pissed about a couple of butt splices? You'd probably throw up if you seen the wiring in my Caddy!I paid a shop to proffesionally install my stereo and that is what i get. I'm not mad about the butt conectors i'm mad at the lazyness and also i'm missing pieces to put my truck back together. I would not have my name on work that looks like that. I guess that is what i get for being lazy and paying some one to do it when in the end i had to go back and fix the crappy work. :dunno:

I've seen much worse....It's not the end of the world to re-route a speaker wire. You should have just had them remove everything though.

+1 , the shop messed it up....they can fix it. If I paid $250 in labor alone, they damn better make that shit look good. That box looks real ghetto however, you had 2 8" subs in that truck? What kind of subs and truck do you have? Did the seat go down over the subs?

So you say you went with a 12" sub? Wheres that at and what brand is that?

That 8" looks clean, but :wtf: is up wit the wire hanging out? shame on u for being lazy ;) tinks maybe yoru installer was having a bad day or just didnt like you very much. but hey look on the bright side, now you can brag that you have 'expansion room' and 'convienient output wire access'

look at the background in the first pic he attached, it's directly behind the driver's seat. Or at least that's what it looks like to me.

If I was paying to get this stuff installed, i'd defenitely bring it back until it was done perfectly. They shouldn't be paid for doing their job half assed.

Wheres the amp? Only logical reason I can see is because most of the time they dont use terminals on the boxes they build, so putting in the 12 would mean taking the stealth box out, when you told them to leave it in :dunno: most likely just miscommunication. Now that I do the shit everyday, I see both sides of each story.

i dont like AVE.... they have cheap labor rates for a reason id assume(there price they gave me too isntall my system was 399 including parts wires RCAs all of it, any other local shop was around the same price but no wires included)... i waited a week and a half for them too build me a box, only too keep getting kicked back due too "whole trunk installs" that would come in during the week nto that were booked before me u ask me, there customer service sucks...... and im sure it shows onto there installs, specially the cheaper ones.... i liked there prices, but in the end, im glad i paid more for my box and went too a diffrent shop.....

Im done posting pro-AVE in this thread because I probably wont change your opinions. But I know all the guys that work there by name, and can guarantee theres other factors that play in besides what you see. Theyre still one of the only places Ill trust with my car.

i liked the guys they seemed professional and knew what they were doing compared to other shops i never choose a shop on price alone.... i just think its BS having me call for over a week and keep booking other big jobs, insted of maybe just doing the minor 2 hour if that box build job...... i dont question them, just there customer service unless your spending thousands.... they answered all my stupid questions and all........but its not cool kickin the little guy around :( hehe

Theyre still one of the only places Ill trust with my car.If yopu were doing my install would you want your name on work that looks like that. Tell me any good reason why when you know i have to remove a box you wouls crimp wires from my old install just to save money. What is even worse is i told JJ(owner) i wanted to be able to remove the new 12 when ever i wanted to since it is sitting on my back seat. How do i remove it? Do i cut the wires they butt connected? My point is this is a proffesional shop and if you think that looks like proffesional work then you are on crack. :tard: Where the 8's were was my storage space. Do you think i want wires running through there? I'm missing parts to put it back together :thumbdwn:

Calm down. Just go back and tell JJ this. Complaining to me won't really help :)

damn get those parts to put your storage space back to stock! btw, did they seal that compartment airtight when you have the 8s in there?

If you gonna do it yourself, I would run the wires behind the rear panel and dril some quick connect terminals into the panel.

Calm down. Just go back and tell JJ this. Complaining to me won't really help :)I fixed it 10 minutes after i got home. I just wanted to show the kind install you get after paying $250 in labor alone to do a very basic install. Good thing i didnt want anything custom.
