yes yes, I did.
I was with another blazer, and I buried the front end. I couldnt get pulled out from the back, the hole was too wide.
So he pulled from the front, hoping to pop me out.
Strap broke :whoa:
At this point let me advocate the useage of "snatch straps", the long flat nylon web with loops on the end. These dont involve metal hooks :) If you need hooks, and are serious about offroading, get some hooks welded on somewhere, or at least bolted on. or instead of hooks, and want something that is VERY stout, try one of these.

this is one of the safest ways to get a recovery point.
Besides whent he strap DOES break, you have no time to react. Seriously. a 3000lb vehicle pulling another 3000lb vehicle, and a strap rated @ 20,000lbs breaks? Its coming FAST. Broke my bugflector of, left a nice gash in my hood, and broke my drivers side windshield wiper clean off. had there been a hook, I may not be typing this today.
