yes it will, but it will be like installing a walbro 255lph. you will need a zip tie and a rubber boot to put around the pump so when you zip tie it, the pump will be snug and it won't be touching the fuel pump bracket.

and if i'm not mistaken, i thing those 3rd gens come with walbro...but don't quote me on that.

i hope this helps bro

Right...like he said they are all pertty much universal "mounting" (zip tie hold-on, and just cut the rubber hose to your liking.

But the only thing im wondering about it the pickup, would the rx7 be compatible with the mr2 tank/setup?

*or could you use the mr2's fuel pump pickup on the rx7 one?

Do you think a supra pump would be better?
I'm getting the rx7 pump for like 50$.

Hey man, honestly i would just get a brand new pump. The rx7 pump is still going to be XX years old. You can pick up a Walbro 255 High-Flow pump off ebay for 89 bucks brand new, specifically for the mr2 with all the little stuff you need to install (the pickup/filter deal, and other little hardware).

The fuel pump is an important piece of the system, id spend the extra 40 bucks to be certain about it, plus not havign to worry about replacing it again. (The fuel pump in the mr2 was a nightmare)

Also, the supra pump is like 200 dollars or so, over 2x the cost of the walbro, and it performs about the same. There is a lot of info and tests on the mr2 boards about fuel pumps, here is one link for starters.

but make sure if you do go on ebay, make sure the company you buy it from has all the hardware for the install. just call them so they can double check. if you get it from a company selling on ebay they would have a phone number so you can call them. when i got mine from ebay it did not have all of the hardware, but when i called the company back and they were cool about it and sent me the hardware.

Thank god. Don't jerry rig anything, especially the fuel pump. It's a 6 hr job to replace it, and that is if you have all the right tools.

Plus did you already have your engine out? or no?

I did mine..with the engine in the car, on jackstands...laying in dirt with ants attacking me...

It was horrible, i never want to do that again.

I have seen prices for the mkiv supra pump new around $160. Used you can pick them up all day for $60-110. My last car had a used mkiv pump and my friend is using a used one as well. No problems to date.

Mkiv pump 290lph
Walbro 255lph

I'm sure a walbro will be just fine but the supra pump does flow more.

do you know where are fuel tanks are?!?!

They are these little long narrow things, shuved under the center-armrest piece (between the seats) in the middle of the car. It was easy on your rx7 because you just drop the tank in the back and replace it. First with out tanks you have to remove a ton of stuff out from underneith it...a/c lines..coolant pipes..etc. Its a bitch to get at the fuel lines to disconnect it...its horrible to drop, and worse to put back in.
