im upgrading the wire from the alternator to the battery. on my car the stock wire goes from the alt. to a fusebox then from the fusebox to the battery. should i jus run the new wire strate to the battery n keep tho old power wire from the fusebox to the battery as a batter to the fusebox? if you have any clue what im talkin about lmk lol. also what gague should i upgrade to? i still have the stock alt. but am upgrading as soon as i have the cash

Yes you can but you need an inline fuse within 12" of batt. depending on current draw 8ga usually does the trick. I had 4ga and a 250amp GM alternator conversion on my EF.

Go with 4 guage, upgrade your batterey's grounds as well. Most stock vehicles run a wire from the alternator directly to the battery, without a fuse...which is also how we do it when upgrading wiring, never had a problem.
