So i decide to install my uppipe on my own, how hard can it be right? it takes me a while but i do get it done but now i have problems. First i start my car and notice a CEL and a ticking noise, then i reset the ecu and drove it a block. The CEL starts flashing and my engine feels like it is misfiring or somthing. The only thing i can think it would be is a o2 sensor may have gotten contaminated in the process of the install... any help would be greatly appreciated.

go to advanced auto parts or autozone, and pull the code for free, prob need a cell delete, but have it done anyways to be sure.

Had it done and cyl # 3 is misfiring, MAF sensor has "low input" and Intake air temp. sensor has "low input". anybody have an answer for this one?

Well, cylinder 3 is right next to the up-pipe. Check the coil pack for cylinder 3 to make sure it's connected well. They don't clip/snap into place or anything and are easy to bump enough to cause trouble.
Cylinder 3 is the passenger side cylinder nearest the firewall.

yeah try that, I had a low MAF sensor done to, but once i checked my plug/wires etc, and reset the ecu or clear the codes, all is well again.

Well, the maf and the iat sensors are integrated, so I would check that plug fer sure. I bet that you know it's right after the filter housing, but for shits and giggles double check it. Another theory is that the turbo inlet pipe is not tightened. If you are getting more air around the sensor instead of through it, it's going to read low and run like crap, and could be the cause of the misfire code. By the way, a blinking cel is a serious realtime misfire!
Which direction did you go with the swap? Did you pull the manifold and raise the engine, or did you pull the turbo? If you yanked the turbo, then it's pointing to my inlet theory.
Yeah, best of luck man...

I jacked the engine instead of pulling the turbo off, i think i am going to try to check the coil and the plug to make sure it isnt fouled.

All i can say is i cant thank you enough kickslop, i guess during installation i had bumped coil pack on cylinder 3 and caused it to misfire. It is running on all 4 not but i still am throwing a CEL.

Glad to hear at least that much success :)

you reset the ecu after you put the coil back on?

I put the coil back on and started the car and there was still a CEL. So i reset my ecu and started it up again and it was gone.

had to clear the ecu. so now that its running good, how did the up-pipe do? good gains?

Good gains, especially the drop in spool time.

good to hear. are the coil packs easy to reach from under the car?

Probably not. But they are easy to reach from the passenger side above it.
