it shoudl be under warranty from the dealer. I dont see how a car would throw a code from changing the oil. Did you take anything off? check to see if you bumped something.

I've got an xA,and had the same deal around 10k miles.

I'm nearly 100% sure it's just a scheduled maintenece light, for oil change. This would make sense because Toyota reccomends every 5k to change the oil.

I'm not quite sure how to turn off the stupid thing though. It only comes on right when I turn the car on, and goes off after a few seconds.

I work for Toyota. I'll ask a tech for you today how to shut it off.

it is the scheduled maintenence light for an oil change. your car is so new that whenever the light does come on, u should just take it in and they will take care of u. my girl has the same car and she got 3 free oil changes with her car.

Sorry bro. I gave my 2 week notice at Toyota on fri. I came in sat to work, and they told me it was best to part ways now. I didn't get a chance to ask for you. I'm heading in tomorrow to finalize everything, so I will ask for you

Alright... Make sure your miles are up on your dash, and not trip a or trip b. Turn the key off. Hold in the odometer reset. Turn the key to the on position. You should see 4 lines where the odometer is. They will go from 4, to 3, 2, 1 . Then your miles should pop back up. Light should be turned off. If it doesn't work, let me know. Pio
