Anyone and Everyone should come. No matter what kind of car you have or want ;), everyone is welcome. Now if you do have a classic, we would all love to see some sweet cars out there, so if your's is running, no excuses :D. Don't worry about if it's not painted or no full exhasut yet!

There is a Nascar race that night and plenty of T.V.'s, so if your a fan like me, you won't miss it!

Post up if you can make it, and if we have a decent amount of cars, we can see if theres anyway to get a small section of the parking lot for us to park. There is not a lot of parking right in front so it would probably have to be around the side.

So who's going to be there?

I found a bad lifter and it tore up a lobe on my cam, but hopefully the parts will be here by friday and I can make it up. I'll probably come up with or without the car, but I'd like to get it up there.

We're rebuilding Janiens carb this week too. Why do I think this is the only forum that will have people posting up that they are fixing their cars just to go to dinner

 Like Bill said we're rebuilding my carb, so if you guys want to come to the house you can ride w/ us. I promise we'll make it :D.

Sounds like Brian has more of a job ahead of him than I do though. But for some reason I bet we see the car out that night :)

Yeah I'll trade you jobs:D. As long as my parts get here on time I'll have it out. They were supposed to ship it 2 day and they did it ground, so I don't know. I'm trying to find out if Fed Ex will deliver on saturday with just standard shipping.

Alright it's tomorrow night! Hopefully everyone can make it. Who else?

As far as parking I guess we can just look for each other since I don't think we have enough cars to really ask for designated parking this time.

I'll see if I can dust off the old mopey and blow out the cobwebs. I usually hit the Wing House in PP on Sat nights for dinner anyways, so a trip to PH wont be too bad.

Rain pending.

I'm going to go wash the car now and I'll head up to the Wing House and see if I can talk to the manager. I'll let him know we have a local car club coming up and I'll ask if we can reserve some tables together. I'll explain we will be their for some time (at least I'm sure we will  ) between eating and drinks after and see what he can do. I'll also check out parking, and mention to him some of the cars that we'll have up their ;). I'll post up details early this afternoon on what I can find out.

Sorry guys I would have done this sooner it just didn't look like we were going to have to many. I'm going to tell him around 12+ people. We are bringing some friends as well, so post up if you have'nt and I'll check it before I go.

We rebuilt the carb last night and it's running better than ever. We'll be there rain or shine.

Well, my Camaro is running just fine. I think all she needs is a quick wash and a tank of gas and I'm there. I'm looking forward to hanging out with you guys tonight.

O.k. I just got back from Wing House and here is what I got.....

I spoke w/ a couple of the girls and the manager Matt, and told them we were going to have a small group up here tonight and wanted to find out the best way to get a few tables together. They took my name and said they would be more than willing to accomodate us. They asked if we would want a view of the T.V.'s and I told them yes. So...we will most likely be on the left hand side when you walk in the front doors. The tables there will hold 6 people plus one more on the end and we could put two together, 14 total. There is also a big screen right there. (there are t.v.s in the back also, but they said the tables back there don't seat as many people)
Matt said we may have a short wait, but I said thats not a problem seeing I could not give him an exact head count and that we would not be arriving all at the same time.

Parking - I did not mention parking to them, I figured we can come up w/ that on our own. The parking lot there is pretty broken up, but if you want and can get a spot up front go for it, there aren't many! Otherwise if you are looking at the front door of the restaurant, to the right, (west side like Figment said) there is an area for parking. That would be right outside where we would most likely be sitting and can keep an eye on the cars. You have to drive around the building to get to it.

If you don't know any faces when you get there give them my name and they should be able to point you in our direction.
If you happen to beat us there, give them my name, Janien, and let them know you are w/ the group for 7:30 and they should get some tables together for you :).

Frankie

I'm on it! I'll be fashionably late as always, so I'll just look for you and bill. I think you guys are the only faces I can spot anyway, I have a horrible photographic memory.

Sounds good Frank. If you remember Billy and Frances, they will be there too.

Nothing from Brian yet....hopefully thats a good sign!

Frankie
05-21-2005, 04:23 PM
Yeah, I can spot Billy and Frances I think. I'm good like that. It needs to cool off outside so I can give the car a good once over. I drove through some sprinklers and have little water spots all over her. No good!

Just got home, there were some seriously nice cars out there. I think the grand total was 4 1st gen Camaros at one time. Very nice.

HerHotRod
05-22-2005, 08:16 AM
Definately some nice cars out there, and luckily the rain held out. (except the patch Brian found on his maiden voyage) I wish I had remembered the camera. Like Frank said there were 3 or 4 Camaros, my Chevelle, a friend of ours brought out his 57 Nomad, and his son had the 62 (?) Nova. All in all it was a good turn out and I had a good time. Everyone should start brainstorming for ideas for the next one. Theres some Mopars and a couple Mustangs we have yet to see ;).

Thanks too Billy and Frances for getting the tables, we were running a little late :).

I am still going to maintain that none of the Fords made it because they weren't running.

I think I lost a motor mount or a transmission mount on the way out of there. You guys hear that bog when I hit the gas on the way out? Yeah. that went hand-in-hand with my stick shift almost ending up in Forge's lap. Whoops!

Oh, and to quote those rednecks that were hootin' on the way out:

"Don't be skeered of it now. C'mon, light 'em up. Damn, that's things a lopin' and all cammed up."

I heard that too. Yeah, there were some comments flying that night. My favorite was when we got there, a guy on the patio yells something like "Thats a 82 girl getting out of a 69 chevelle" I had to laugh. He's not very good w/ his model yrs I'm a 76 and the cars a 71

I wondered what happened. I was looking for the javelin. Next time.

And Frank our ride home was interesting as well. We had a high speed chase pass us on 19 and sunset. We were the 2nd car back at the light w/ no one behind us when a cherokee does about 120 right next to us. I still don't like thinking what could have happened :(.

Frankie

At least it wasn't a yellow '69 Camaro doing a 100mph pass.

That would have been AWESOME!!!

The chase was funny, Janien didn't even realize that the jeep was the one being chased. I heard sirens, looked in the side mirror and saw all these flashing lights in the distance and one set of headlights way out in front, flying. I thought "they're chasing this asshole" and told Janien, "don't move" we just sat there along with the other cars at the light, I believe a couple of them started to move out of the way, but when they realized what was going on, they all froze up too. Then this Jeep Cherokee fucking flies past us in the right turn lane, I don't think he even tapped the brakes for the red light, then every sheriff from miles around goes flying by along with the helicopter. I wasn't really worried about the cops, every lead car (they were in a couple of packs) braked for the light, then got back on it when they saw it was clear. I think the cops handled it fine considering traffic conditions at the time, but that cherokee was on a mission

HerHotRod

I was actually just about to ask what you guys think.

I think Saturday night worked good, but for how often.....Once a month, maybe every other week. I saw how the Ford meet has a pre set schedule that says where and when and mixes it up. What if we try to set up something like that. I think Scott had a good idea w/ that.

It could alternate dif. places to meet up and eat (like what was in the last poll) and maybe come up w/ something to do before hand or after.

For one, I was thinking maybe go-carts, then meet up to eat :tard:. I'll never outgrow them :D. Just an idea. But brainstorm and let me know what you all think. I can creat a schedule w/ the next few :).

If you're going to schedule regular events, you should probably do them every 2 weeks. If you do them every week, you'll get light turnouts because people have other things going on. If you do it every 2 weeks or once a month, you'll get bigger crowds. Even me :D

Another suggestion that we've found. Have everyone meet at a centralized spot and then drive to wherever the "event" is. This will bring more people out, allow first timers to find everyone, and get everyone to DRIVE THEIR CARS (which some people seem to forget is the point of having them)

I agree about not doing it every week. And you made it, just late .

Good points. The whole idea, besides geting together, is to GET THE CAR OUT OF THE GARAGE :D.
