if it is a 5-speed it is a w58 crap and will blow up at the first sign of power.

if $$ is no issue go 6spd. if it is a prob go r154 and a 1jz bell housong,

what i was looking to do was get a sc300 auto and turbo it. or would you say do a supra swap and blot it up to the sc300 tranny. or would i have to put a supra tranny on it. how much different are the internals on the 2jz motor compared to the 2jzgtte motor??

first of there is no 2jzgtte its just gte, and the internals for the ge and gte engine are about the same, less the oil squirters and the turbo pistons on the GE block. I plan on getting a sc300 and doing the same someday down the road. you can do a na-T conversion on the GE block, but will need the double stacked GTE head gasket if I remember correctly to get the GTE compression ratios.. as far as the autos go you will need to get a beefier auto for handling more power, or you can do a subtle power increase and be happy with the auto. either way you can get the GE block turbo'd or do the full out 2jzgte swap... when i go the sc300 route im going to look for one with a shot engien and do the full 2jzgte swap.

you will not want to stay with your std sc300 auto with a 2jzgte. The 5 speed from a sc300 will work up to about 500 rwhp, at which you will start to lose reliabilty in the trans.

ok what you are saying either way if i turbo a low milage sc300 which is the 2jzge and double up on the head gastet or with a 2jzgte swap i will need a new tranny. so which tranny would you go with. i would like auto tranny. wouldn't you guys say it would be cheaper to get sc300 with low miles and just turbo it with a single turbo set up. then to go with a 2jzgte motor then upgrade the turbo on that. cuz i plan on make around 500 hp. so why waste the money on spending 4 grand on a 2jzgte motor when i can turbo a sc300 for abour th 4 grand but have a better sut up. let me know what what you guys think. thanks for all the input

so to make it easy which would be the best set up, sc300 with 4 grand into it, or just 4 grand on a supra swap

If all you've got is 4 grand, your not even going to get the supra motor and all the necessary parts on your doorstep without some really good luck.

Good luck..

I hope when you say double up hg. you don't actually mean putting two hg in. 1st of all write down what your goals (ie: hp, streetability, drag, dyno queen, hard street driving, race or pump gas) are gonna be then ask the question again.

I think there is a headgasket sold tht is two headgaskets riveted together, anyway as far as not being able to get a 2jzge for under 4k$, they can be had all day long for 3.8k$, and if you get lucky for much cheaper. Lthough most are aristo clips, so you have to change a few things. But Supra engines are going for ~3.5k and up. like SRO said state your goals then bhuild accordingly. I dont know the threshhold of the stock auto, but i like stick so I never looked into it. As far as setup of the GE engine you are looking at a more restyrictive intake by the looks of the design, more plumbing for a front mount, a distributed ignition, the flange pattern on the head is different, so there is less support for aftermarket exh manifolds, etc etc. if you have the pockets go full out 2jzgte, or if you want do a 1jzgte swap for 1.2k$, or go middle of the road w/ a GE bottom end and a 1jz head... thats what im going to build later this summer with my GE block for my MKIII. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

1jzgte how strong are those, about how much power could that engine make but still be a daily driver ?
