There are around 10 spots left. I think it is $30 to enter. They are shooting for 5-6 runs a piece from what I can tell from the emails I have received. It's at the Hernando County Airport. Should be wide open and fast.

Email bam2002@tampabay.rr.com to register.

Muddy: Was nice to actually meet you this time. What kind of times did you end up with?

Rosko: Welcome to TR... hope you had a good time up there.

The event ended up being $25 and was well worth it. The course was right around 1.4 miles long and everyone ended up getting 6 runs. Lunch was also included in the price. The course was extremeley fast... there were straightaways going out and coming back where I was topping 90 miles per hour. Extremely fun course. I think my best time was 1:15.3xx. Fastest time of the day was set, I think, by Jamal Mardini in his s/c M coupe on 265 Hoosiers all around. Pretty sure he hit a 1:08.xxx. Danny Shields also was fast as usual in his bone stock boxster on slicks. I think he was in the 109:4xx range but I am not sure.

btw, I was in the green 540i.

Nice to meet you, too, 99tl.

I didn't see my afternoon times, but I ran a 1:15 in the morning. My first run in the afternoon was in the 350z on snow tires. I dnf'd my second run, but I think I ran faster on my last run. Anyway, I had a blast. :D

Jamal was on 285/30/18 Hoosiers on those gorgeous CCWs.

Thanks. When I wasn't sliding my car over cones, or off course, I had a great time. It was a well run and organized event, especially after the first run. Things I thought were extra nice: (1) Plenty of available cold water on a hot day, (2) the inclusion of food for lunch, and (3) having a taxi service carry us to and from our worker station.

btw, I was in the green 540i

If this is the car I think it was, there was plenty of worker discussion every time your car went by. I think it was debadged so we couldn't tell what it was. That guy, Ian with the M3, and the worker next to me couldn't decide if it was a V6 or a V8, or whether or not it had a supercharger. All we knew was that it sounded kick ass and it blew by real fast.

My first run in the afternoon was in the 350z on snow tires.

I can't say enough nice things about Muddy. He helped me a lot. After he fixed my tire pressure, and showed me how to drive my car, my time improved from around 1:27.x to 1:21.x. Thanks again, Muddy.

Were you the person with the red e36 m w/ the lw wing and forgelines?

And my car is n/a 4.0 V-8.

I will be happy to drive your car, anytime. ;) The suspension seemed a bit soft to me, but I bet it will feel a little better once you get some decent tires. :)

I gotcha... I was the one that asked you what suspension you were running. That car is beautiful. If you don't mind me asking what kind of motor work do you have done? Car sounded great and looked pretty powerful.

not all that powerful, she ran a 14.007 @ 98.9 mph at Bithlo 3 days ago.

Just Euro HFM, Jet headers, Chip with the AFM, Underdrive pulleys, and a Borla exhaust. Pretty much the same as the Blue M3 that was there.

I gotcha. I'm surprised with those mods your car didn't pull better times? Is that track extremely slow or something? Wish I could find a set of headers for my car for less than $2500. Parts availability for the e34 is pretty lack-luster. What kind of times did you end up getting? I am hoping that with the rest of my suspension work being done and hopefully some better tires I will be a little closer to you big boys' times. More seat-time certainly won't hurt me either. Really like your car, though.

I got down to a 108.8 second run. I think Jamal got me with a 108.5.
Yeah bithlo is known for being a slow track.

You suck! :-D BTW, I was on street tires, he was on slicks!

Busy day at work, I'll try to get a video up later!

Good seeing everyone! 99TL, very nice driving! I was working during your runs, man that's a big car!

Yeah, that V-8 hauled some AZZ down those straights, it was impressive to watch it grab rubber into 3rd run after run.

Thanks Jamal... for a heavier car (~3800lbs) it actually handles surprisingly well... I wish the steering was a little tighter but oh well. That was my last event on the oem 108k mile shocks so that will be a pleasant change... they are pretty much done for. I also hope to have a decent set of tires for the next event too.

As far as being impressive on the straightaway I think Jamal might take the cake on that one... Jamal, Ian, and Danny were definitely a blast to watch. Hopefully a couple of you guys will be there for the next bmwcca event and you can maybe offer me some advice on how to dial the suspension in correctly and give me a few driver pointers. I'm always up for some constructive criticism.

For having worn out shocks and tires you were doing very good! Loved the way it sounds too! Looks like it's making some decent power. Didn't get the chance to see the other 540's times, how was it in comparison to yours?

There's another event this coming weekend back in Brooksville, you can come watch Ian detroy us all in that GT3! Hopefully I'll be back, need to fix one of the tires since I got a nail in it and had to skip my last run!

Ian, here's the video (http://www.fastjam.com/autox/cca0515.wmv), enjoy!

Nice video! I wish I could come check out Brooksville this weekend but I have to go to Ft. Lauderdale mid day on saturday returning mid day sunday. The other 540 went !:19.xxx on his last run iirc. He also suffered a punctured tire.

Jamal: what speed is your 3rd to 4th shift? You were flying down the straights.

Ian, you know you can drive that car anytime you want to, I can learn a thing or two from you! :nworthy: If I make it this weekend we can switch cars, GT3 that is! :-D

99TL, next event stop by and I'll take you for a ride. I think 3rd redlines at about 80 mph, I was probably seeing 100 mph!!! :whoa:

The times I posted were off the computer.
Some did not have cones posted or oc.
That is why the results are being audited with the paper logs.
But the numbers are accurate - just don't know if clean or not?

Let's go faster this weekend!
