Looks like the grapefruit shooter was the way to go. My previous best was 277hp and 312tq with 20psi, pump gas and xylene mixture. Today made 282hp and 291tq with 18psi on pump gas. I do not have the dyno plot, as I need to scan it first. 282hp peaking at 6750rpm and 291tq peaking at 4100rpm. Pig rich after 4100rpm on the a/f. With an safc I should be easily making 300rw at the same boost level. Keep in mind, this is still on the stock intercooler. The boost moved up and down a bit while at full throttle between 16 and 18 psi. Martin at XAT informed me that my next best mods would be cams and an ems.
Performance Mods:
K&N Intake
GReddy Power Evo Exhaust
Aussie 3" Downpipe
Mine's ECU
SARD BOV
Walbro 255 Pump

Nice numbers. A car that light shoudl really move with that power.
Still on stock turbo? The way it sounds if you get it tunned correctly you have some moer power sitting in there.
good work!

go with a 60-1... 3" exhaust then run 18 lbs... you dont need an afc yet.. although it wouldnt hurt...
uprgrade that turbo and you will be VERY supprised at what your car will do

Galcrazi.. I think MR2Drivers goal is to hit 11 on a stock turbine....... Which he'll do with some proper tires and his badass'ness

what is bothering me is how rich i am running... i thought we 2ng gen run out near 275hp? i was 9hp away on that part and it still clocked a 10 or less? and there isn't any fuel upgrade on that car as far as i know...
ryan had to stop the dyno pull because i told him my car runs at 15psi and that pull it was up to 17psi. i am blaming on this free faulty hks evc that i own. i already ordered a new evc
i am so upset that i couldn't get a real 15psi run
the 3 runs were supposely 10psi, 17psi and 8 psi

I was able to make it to dyno day at XAT. It was a nice turn out, although... this was my 1st time lol. Still, there where more than a dozen MR2s all really nice.
Results:
175 rwhp @ 14PSI :thumbdwn:
I'm losing power somewhere... Maybe the stock exhaust is bad, or injectors dirty or maybe its my CT26?? :wtf:
The good news is that I brought my CT20B for a visual inspection, seems like its in good enough shape to install. But, before I change my exhaust and turbo... I'm going to try to get my HP back up cause I believe I should be around 190 rwhp instead of 175 rwhp.
Going to start with the cleaning of my injectors....

It seems a lot of people have trouble with that boost controller. The best one I have seen so far is the Blitz Dual SBC.

Love doctor, a CT20B on a stock exhaust is going to be extremely choked like you've seen. Open up to a 3 inch system and say hello to 230ish whp.

I will not replace the Turbo without upgrading my exhaust. I'm in the hunt as we speak. ;-)
By the way, anyone know when the next MR2 meet is?

Ahh, forgot u were still on the old CT..
STILL however, over stock boost on that turbine really wont do alot for power. You really need to open that exhaust up, its choking you bigtime.

3" dp and exhaust is the best power gain you get aside from a boost controller, but the boost controller is useless without the exhaust to back it up.

Nice numbers mark.
I almost went, but was too ashamed of my ugly paintless mr2. Its going in the paint shop tomorrow though, so ill try to make it up there for the next one. Yeah that 20b is a fun turbo though, i do kinda miss mine a little bit, for drivability reasons.

OK... once you hit 3k rpm on the 2nd gen, the maf is wide open and your running full rich. That's why. Youve got to remember your at over 80% duty cycle on your injectors at this point as well. They can handle it under normal driving conditions, but you've got to be carefull once you near the 300hp mark. Also, make sure your running AT LEAST a 255lph fuel pump, like a walbro or something. They are only $100 and well worth the safety. You don't want your pump starving out when your boosting or its bye bye 3s. Best of luck hitting 11's on the stock CT. Im not saying its not possible, just difficult. I hope you have a US spec and not the ceramic wheel. If so then do NOT boost over 15psi. Your turbo life is already shortend running that boost, but you dont want the exhaust wheel breaking up (if its ceramic) and getting sucked back into the engine. I have heard of this happening and it makes your block UNUSABLE. Just my .02 cents
Kick ass numbers tho.

if you are referring to MR2driver, last i remember he has a Gen 3 in his car with the CT20B.....and last i remember they didnt have a U.S. spec one....didnt they only come on the Gen 3 motor which was never U.S. spec? If i'm wrong please correct me...

I am running a Gen 3 engine, so none of your theories apply. Thanks for the information, though. The only thought that I will address is of the ceramic compressor wheel. The only time a wheel will break up is when the turbo has bad seals and is thrown out of balance. I maintain mine, so that will not be an issue for me. I also only run high boost when I am racing. Daily use only sees 10psi.

my apologies... didnt realize you were running a gen3. Very nice.... haha i wish didnt have a MAF... lucky! :asshole: haha yea your 20b can handle 18psi when maintained properly. You wont have much trouble hitting the numbers you want with that motor. I know a guy in Miami who made 300whp on 18psi on that motor. Only mod done was EMS and it was tuned shitty at that.

After dyno tuning at XAT, this 2nd Gen 3SGTE put out 235rwhp @ 15psi.
For some reason, I don't believe this is a good start with all these new parts I have. Am I missing something here? Am I on the right track to hit 300rwhp or does this MR2 I have simply doesn't have it in her?

Carlos' motor detonated and is now pretty much entirely trashed.
On a side note I took the plunge and bought a stand alone. Apexi Power FC with datalogit. Should be here next week.
