ot doesn't matter as long as it is obd1. if you don't know which years are obd1 then you shouldn't be wanting to buy the chip, but none the less any car that cam with a VR6 motor was obd1 until 96. so all Slc corrado's, pre 96 vr6 passat's, and pre 96 VR6 gti's and jetta's
