way to help the guy out...

anyway, the swap is pretty much like every other swap, theres the basic pulling the old, bolting in the new. sensors and wires are a pain, and im sure the ECU and harness would have to be changed, but its not that hard if you are mechanically inclined. I'd recomend getting the motor, tranny, ehaust, ECU and harness all together. Call XAT racing, they'll have everything you need and can give you some good pointers.

As far as high hp, what are you expecting out of it? mid 12s with good driving and tires are easy with an FMIC and other bolt ons, as far as the limit, ill tell ya, the limit for any car is your wallet.

good point , also it depends on the motor/chassis combo that determines the ease of the swap. differnt model 240's and SR .
just buy some of the cars who's owners were kicked off the band wagon .

wow.. this topic has been covered alot.

SR's with stock bottom ends are typically good for 400-450 at wheels daily driven

some people have made more. Scott made 540+rwhp and others in the 600-700+ range.

yes, you can get motorsets for under $2k, but you also need an intercooler, radiator, fuel pump, labor, etc.... the motor itself bolts right in, but the harness doesnt plug right up. youre going to have to get someone to heavily modify it. we do all mail order harness work.

thanks to you guys with advice. i wasnt sure if that motor would use the stock mounts and what not but youve answered my question. i not trying to make a race car but a 300+hp daily driver would be perfect. also is the nissan t25 turbo like the t25 on the mitsubishi's?(worthless)

theyre pretty small as turbos go.....worthless...nah, but i think dd 300hp might be a stretch. Im not sure if it works with the sr20 motors, but the last turbo car i had (mustang 2.3L Turbo) had a similar turbo to the t25. Get a hold of a t3/t4 hybrid (or build one yourself) and youll be amazed at the difference. be sure though, when you get a motor, that the turbo doesnt have play (the shaft moves in and out or up/down, you get the idea) a TINY bit of play should be fine, but any decent ammount and your going to throw fins, eat the houseing, etc... pretty quickly

and as for these shennanigans about the harness, just rip the stock one and get a sr20deT harness

when you do get a motor, i think its the red top you want to get... but then again its been quite a while since ive played with nissans

curious though, what year 240 are we talking about for this?

For 300hp daily driver you dont need a T3/T4... a T28 should get you there and it bolts right up as opposed to the T3/T4 thats going to require a top mount manifold.
