Been wanting to see what my new car can do, so I raced a buddy of mine Sat. night in his 98 GS-T. It was my first time trying to launch in my car and I think it jumps out of the hole pretty well for a mostly stock 5.0.

Only did one run, from a dig. From the start, I quickly put 1 1/2, maybe 2 cars on him. Stayed that way up to about 90 when he cut my lead down to 1/2 a car and we shut down at around 100 with it staying that way.

Can't wait until I get all my new stuff in and installed (won't be until after Track Day) so I can make some real power.

whats so great about a GST? ive never met a fast one that ran for too long. Heck i stayed within a fender of one with my v6 camaro. my friend eric had a fast one (13.5@109)when it wasnt blowing head gaskets. he ended up selling the headache.

I am sure there are 1 or 2 around here that are pretty quick though.

Good kill....When did you get the Mustang?

I've had it for a little over 2 weeks now. I've been researching night after night and spent a little time under the hood already learning the car when I can. I've been used to building Honda's and Mazda's for the past 4-5 years. Up until now, I didn't know nearly as much as I know now about the foxbody's and the capabilities of the 302's. I was going to give up my spot at Track Day after I got it, but I love driving it and decided to make a few passes this Saturday and just enjoy myself making 15 sec passes as well as to start getting used to driving it on the 1/4.

I suppose this thread is ready for a lock since its gone slightly off topic?

A stock dsm is a good race for a stock 5.0. It comes down to the driver and he didn't get out of the hole cleanly. Good race.

I was sorta being sarcastic...

Nope. I don't have class tomorrow so I'm spending my all my time after work and early Saturday to get my car ready. I just bought a buncha goodies earlier today (thank god for our shop's corp. account with Brandon Ford) and will be installing them as well. Still haven't gotten everything I need for a mass air conversion, but I should have everything soon.

For those of you wondering, it was a mostly stock GS-T. Off the top of my head, the car has a 14b turbo off a 1st Gen, 3" Thermal Exhaust, Intake, ACT Clutch, and an HKS bov... nothing major at all. Other than that, he's beefed up the suspension a bit and that's about it that I can remember right now. Couldn't tell you how much boost he was pushing when we raced. We both had passengers riding with us.
