I have to install a system on a chevy colorado and I wanted to get your input on how i should do it. The guy wants to keep his factory head unit and speakers, but he wants to amp those speakers. He also got a bazooka tube sub for the back. Any help on how i should wire it and stuff? I am assuming i will just re wire all the speakers going directly to the amp but im not sure how to hook the rca's to that amp.. do i just use the output of the other amp?

dont rewire all the speakers to the amp, he wont notice any difference. just run the amp out to the speaker wires at the head unit, and use the factory wiring. UNless he's using some 75+ wrms per channel he'll never notice the difference, ESPECAILLY with stock speakers. Dont waste time pulling all those panels etc.

Is the bazooka externally amplified? if there are rca out on the bazooka, or external amp, then just use those instead of running another converter.

no the bazooka is not amped. its gotta get an external amp. thanks for the help... those cars dont have the seperate amp inside like the mach systems do. right?

Correct me if I am wrong but he wants to amplify his stock speakers but already has a tube installed

I really dont see why you would need to amplify stock speakers. if he wants to amplify his speakers, I would atleast upgrade to some cheap pioneers or something

Yeah definitely don't bother amping stock speakers, they will just end up blowing and not sounding any better anyways. Better off just getting a better cheap HU and using the internal amp to push them.

he likes the stock head unit, it plays mp3s and cd's... i am just doing what the guy wants, its not my car.

so do most head unit's on the market... methinks its more of he doesnt want to chop up his dash and get something that doesnt match, and is hard to use with all them there dials and buttons.

well put the amp on his stock speakers and explain how much better it will sound with new speakers, and a new head unit. Let him listen to your car, and tell him.

lol my speakers arent comparable to what he would get. and mine are amped. ill try to get him to not amp them at all and just hook up the sub for now
