03 4.3L 22k miles sputtering/missing HELP

Hey my truck is an 03 4.3 with 22k miles, this just started the other day i noticed, when i accelerate when it gets to 1700 rpm it will sputter/ sound like its missing, and when i drive at a constant 1700 rpm to 2000 rpm it will sputter/ miss not before and not after. it also doe this in N an park in that RPM range only, any idea im totally lost on this, mike

no its still under warranty, BUT i have alot of stuff done to the truck, and i dont really wanna go throught all the BS to get them to cover it, if i can figure it out myself, but i may end up takign it there anyway, just wanted to see if anyone could help me out befor hand- mike

is it making any loud metallic type noises?

Check your plugs and wires. Then take the coils and ignition moduals down to Autozone and have them tested. You can even take the truck to them and they will pull the trouble codes for you for free. Get more information first it will make your troubleshooting a lot easier.

i dotn hear any metallic type noise, i can hear it hesitation/ sputtering through the exhaust - mike

went to autozone, no codes thrown, didnt do it as much during the day, it does it more persistantly at night, untill i drove aroudn for about 20 minutes, an when i got home an reved the engine in park it started to do it again, mike

I KNOW WHAT IT IS!!! Check your cap!!! If your set up the same as the full size truck- the ac drip on the cap- pull it off and see if it is white!!- IF this is the problem- bring it to them- make the wrap the pipe and replace your cap. Let me know..

my ac dosent drip on my cap, i put fuel injector cleaner in it an drive it to orlando an back, hasnt done it since- heh

i thought there was NO problems with your truck for far i havint had one mechanical or any other problem so far ...

My boat with a 4.3 had the same problem, ran lots of fuel treatment through it and changed the fuel filter....So far so good!
