there are multiple levels of the firehawk, there is the firehawk formula, firehawk t/a
the firehawk has a unique hood as well, along with many extra performance parts, depending on level package the horsepower can vary

actually the first time the firehawk package was put on a t/a was in 98, the firehawk package started in 92 and was strictly a formula package. the 92 firehawk was the fastest car pontiac has ever produced. it recieved a complete makeover, including recaro seats, 5 point harnesses, and a full roll cage standard. bremo brakes, a wheel/tire combo, dana 44 rear end, zf 6 speed with carbon fiber clutch, full suspension upgrade, a shitload of engine mods, and the firehawk badges. they were only available in red, but pontiac shit out one white one. this white firehawk is the most rare gm car produced, and it is the only factory car to come with gm's 366 all aluminum race prepped shortblock. the run of the mill 92 firehawk put out a dyno proven 376hp/401 tq to the rear wheels, and the beats only weighed 3200 lbs... and the cost? just over 40 grand.. most expensive firebird produced.. what do you expect in 92 they actually built a production race car. and laugh it up ls1 guys, these "fastest produced firebirds" had the ever-loved LT1.
1994 was the first year of the 4th gen firehawks..20 somethin of these got the lt4 and the rest got worked over lt1s.. it wasnt as crazy as the 92 but it still got some engine mods, suspension mods and some thick ass tires, also they got a cool ram air hood that i want.. 1995 offered the convertable, 1996 added some cool foglights and the Comp T/A package for t/a owners, and 97 went unchanged...
1998 had 6 vehicals that slp added firehawk aftermarket stuff to but NONE were considered production firehawks by slp.. also non flip up headlights were featured on some of these.
1999 the package became available to all firebird base models (including trans am).. from 99-2002 the firehawk package included a cool hood, some graphics, wheels, exhaust, lid and suspension.. cool shit..
92 might have been the fastest car, but you still had to yank the fuckign engine to change the spark plugs. :)

what is the diffrence between the 02 trans am and the 02 firehawkthe difference between the two is performance... the 02 trans am (im assuming your NOT talking about the ws6) has a milder suspension, and the firehawk has a more free flowing exhaust and intake, and suspension upgrades range from mild to wild.. it depends on the level of the package

False
The LT4 was first in all 1996 corvettes with manual trans, SLP picked up some of the leftover LT4's and they showed up in a very few 1997 Firehawks and Camaro SS's. If you ever happen to run across a true LT4 SLP F-bod, it is worth some beans.

"The 1997 model year saw minimum changes to the SS model.
A new option package 1997 was the 30th Anniversary Camaro package. It was a white car with Hugger Orange racing stripes, white Houndstooth cloth interior, or optional white leather, and white 5-spoke wheels were included. Seats had "30th Anniversary" embroidered on headrest, leather had embossed logos.
Also new for 97 was the addition of the Corvette LT4 330 horsepower engine. Only 100 of these cars were built for the U.S. market ."

I believe the fastest Pontiac ever produced was the 1989 Turbo Trans Am. I bet the numbers are close but from what I remember the 89 is faster.
