CD player problem plz help!!!!

I am putting a CD player in a freinds 99 Civic, I have everything hooked up and it was working just fine and then I crank the car.. the audio shuts off. the cd player is still on and working but I am getting no sound at all. the only way to get sound again even if I turn off the car is by pulling the harness of the back of the cd player and reseting it.. then the same thing happens all over again.. any ideas as to what the problem is? BTW it is a cut harness I had to wire in everything ..

Grounded speaker or bad deck. Test it by using a multimeter on each speaker lead...or simply disconnecting one speaker at a time and cranking the volume to the level it normally shut off to see which speaker it is.
