well ive always been a big fan of azenis, but for the wheel application i MIGHT be going with will call for a lot of stretch and azenis' sidewalls are too stiff to stretch, basically i want to roll a 205-50-15 on a 8-8.5" wide wheel. do the kuhmo MXs stretch that much? any others?

It should work fine. I run 195 on an 8" with no problem. Try es100. they are nice tires.

MX's have some what of a less stiff sidewall, so I'd think they'd do great with a stretch.

Yeah MX's dont have the same sidewall rock hardness that the azenis has.
but the MX runs large, possibly larger than an RT215.
for the record i've seen a 225/45/17 azenis on a 10" wheel so they will stretch and fit, you just need the cheetah.
MX's will moutn on tires sooo easily because the bead design is well made and the sidewall has just the right stiffness to it. picture it something like an ES100 sidewall.

I just stretched a 215/40/17 ES100 on a 9 and it went on ok. I love the grip in the dry much better than the Kumho 711. Today in the rain I had no understeer at all sliding around in the auction parking lot. I would say go for it.
Peace
mark what wheels are u getting that are 8.5 wide?

what is the prupose of stretching tires to fit on a rim?

ok, any real reason?
So the sidewall doesn't flex and you don't kill your sidewalls and have a shot tire that has like 80% tread left...
ag04
thats not true
with a stretched tire, you sidewall gets ridden on a lot more.

less sidewall flex
but the main reason is i wont be able to go wider then a 205 without rubbing.
ahhh... it should help in the probability of having your bead pop off due to excessive sidewall flex right? Wouldn't it also help to break traction, as a result of less of a "wrinkle wall" effect? uhh... but wouldn't you need a tire with a stiff/hard sidewall to get stretched over a rim to remedy this?
But I have some kuhmos that got real messed up before they were done, had like 60% tread left, and the sidewalls were toast. They were 205's on a 7.5. I switched to a pair of azenis, and problem was solved probably as a result of the stiffer sidewalls.

yeah, you were probably rolling over n the sidewalls without even knowing it.

i have 215/45-17 MX's on my 8.5" wide front rims and they went in with no issue and seated with normal air pressure
