I just bought a Kenwood KVT-715DVD and am about to buy a sirius unit for it. Now the HU is easy but I'm not too sure on how to run the cable for the sirius unit. Its going in an explorer and the cable for it is 14' long. I wanted to put in in the back but it seems like a PITA to do that so I might just put it up front. Now how much would someone charge to do this for me? Also, what if I just took it to BB or CC do they sell these units? And do they have free installation or anything? I'm always a DIY guy but I'm just not sure on getting the cable ran through the window and everything. If its easier than I'm thinkin please, let me know.

you can always swing it by my house or I can stop by if you live in the bloomingdale area and my amatuer ass can take a looksie

im sure if you buy it at BB or CC they will install it for you, i know this to be true with headunit, so I would guess XM would still apply

+1 CC owns :)

Theyll charge you 51 for a sat radio install, its really not that bad running the antenna, just put it up top above the 3rd brake light, then run it in weatherstripping and up to the front of the car however you want to.

Or just bring it to John at SA and call it a day.

So CC charges $51 to install it if I bring them the equipment? Well they probably won't have to go all the way to the front anyways since the HU I have has a hideaway unit with it thats going under the passenger seat more than likely, but thats not much different anyways. I'll be getting a navigation unit soon too, so I guess it could be worth my time to figure out how to install these things on the roof ;) I guess I'll see when I get it.

Oh but does CC or BB sell the sirius units for kenwood HUs that are sirius ready?

What do you want installed? Everything or just the satellite radio?

Just the satellite radio. Might be a little while, so I'm just looking right now unless the price is right. I think I found everything I need for like $80 so I might order it this weekend, not totally sure.

As for the HU install, anyone have any tips or things to remember when installing this? Its my first monitor/dvd player install but it seems to be the same except for hooking up the hide away unit. Thanks.
