Can i fix my L7 with blown voice coils?

I have a 12inch solo baric L7, im pretty sure the voice coils are bad, or its frozen. When i hook power up the the voice coils it doesnt even pop the sub up. I dont know shit about audio, so is there a way to fix this, or do i need to just trash it, and buy a new one?

Do you have warranty?

If not, contact Kicker and they will usually replace the voicecoil and recone which is cheaper then buying a new sub.. the magnet is a big part of the cost..

Anything can be fixed, you'll probably be stuck with a hefty bill though.

Yes, they recone but don't replace with stock voice coils.. they use some off-brand voice-coil.

Contact Kicker, as I said, and tell them what's up and they'll let you know what you need to do.

id have 2 say buy a new 1 thats what i had to do with my L5

i had 2 L5's then upgraded to 2 L7' i burn out the voice coils on all 4 with a 500 watt MTX amp most of my friends have had the same problems with be voice colis thats y im a JL man now

Since you haven't called yet, I called for you.

They will not take back and repair the voice coil like most other manufacturers do (how fucked is that?)..

However if you do not have warranty then bring it into a Kicker dealer and they will take it as a trade-in. A new speaker is $300, she was unable to tell me what they will offer as a trade-in..

Obviously lesson of the day is to not trash it and take the few bucks they'll give you.

thanks alot, i went and talked to the audio store here, and he said he will give me a new speaker half price with exchange, but... its the new version, and i cant have 2 different subs, because these arent even mine, they are my sisters boyfriends, and i cant let him know i messed them up, i know im an ass... but im probly just going to find a used one.
