We've got an S2000 expert who will likely chime in. Is the car all stock? What condition are your tires in? It could be the car or the tires... but it could also be the driver.
Any more info about the car, the turn and how your taking it would probably help. Like, what tires, how old, what pressures, what suspension, 90-degree turn, how fast, etc.
In an S2000, I'd bet you're probably just trying to enter the turn a little too fast for the tires. Try braking a little more before the turn. "Slow in, fast out."

is this on the street?
Blake

the tires are kuhmos wit AA traction and the suspension is stock and the turn is about a 70 degree sweeper

Which Kumho's? I believe that they make multiple tires with AA traction (besides that, traction ratings are entirely subjective anyway).
What kind of car?
Surface of the turn?
Condition of the pavement?
Is the turn off camber?

traction ratings are tested using a straight line wet braking test....
ie, they mean shit.

this is on all surfaces for some reason i cant stick in the front. i cant remember what kind of kumho's they are. but they are Z rated and i was told that they were best for holding the track

Let me guess, you were told this by a tire salesman? Don't believe everything you hear.
Okay, let's back up a little. Did you buy the car new? Has it always behaved this way? Have you tried other tires? How old are these Kumho's and exactly which model are they? What are your tire pressures?
There are some great opportunities coming up to get with some more experienced drivers and learn a lot about how to handle your car. A 12-hour autocross in Orlando on the 5th (unlimited runs), and a two-day autocross in St. Pete the following weekend (probably 6 or more runs each day). At one or both of those you could learn either how to fix the problem (tire pressures), that the problem can't be fixed (crappy tires), or just how to drive better to deal with the problem. If nothing else, you'll have some fun.

If you can't be bothered to walk outside and look at the tires, how can we even begin to help you?
I think you need more downforce on the front tires. I'd recommend one of those hood wings.

20?? S-2000? If it's a '00-'03 than I'd say you're simply entering the corner to quickly or you're braking while cornering. If it's a '04-'05 than you'd be wise to go get an alignment done. The AP2 is often deleivered w/o ANY front camber.
Some of the questions already posed would help us diagnose this for you...Bought new or used - what year - what EXACT tire (+sizes & pressures)- braking in a straight line prior to corner entry - etc.?
These are really question for www.S2Ki.com. The old car does NOT push unless it's just driver error, a very bad alignment, weird tires and/or pressures, or you have a massive aftermarket front sway bar on and you're running street tires. The new one is pushy in almost all situations, but an aggressive alignment can correct that.

Love the reputation - fucking assholes. If I'm getting trashed on here I guess I better say a few things to deserve it.

they are kumho 711's and slightly worn on the inside

+1 for the hood wing.

Alright. That's one answer for a dozen questions...
Kuhmo 711's in what sizes? On what year S2000?
This is like pulling teeth.
I get the feeling you didn't actually want any help at all.

Just increase your rear tires pressure and/or decrease teh front tires pressure. That's it fixed ;)

Ahh, so that's how you become a national champion....
If it were that easy, I'd already have two jackets.
Blake - Listen to OversteerS2K - he knows how to drive an S2000. You're probabley trying to carry too much speed through a given turn. Emerson Fittipaldi's classic answer when asked to give adivce to amature drivers - "Most amatures go to slow in the fast parts and too fast in the slow parts."
Were you in the white S2000 at G'ville? At the next event, have one of the instructors ride with you - they'll be able to point out where you're making mistakes and how to correct them.

They are 18's on an 01 S2k

We're getting closer...
Now, sizes? Example: 18X7.5 front with a 215/40/18 & 18X8.5 rear with a 275/35/18 - now that'd push.
Please post the sizes. I'm trying to help.
And simply playing with tire pressures isn't the solution.

Wait just one second...... You got an 01 S2K to push??? Something is WAYYYY wrong with either your tire size or your alignment. That car will TURN no matter how stupid you enter a corner. Even with a huge front Sway bar mine still turned. Only the 2004's refuse to turn. Put the OEM wheels and tires back on it and go get a proper alighnment...
-1.75 camber front
Every bit of caster they can give ya
1/8 tow out per side front
Rear
-2.25 camber
0 toe.
Enjoy

they are 225/40/18 on all 4

Wow. Now I'm at a loss... With 225's all around the car should be VERY tail happy. Optimally, you'd want a 1.5" tread width stagger from front to rear. Keep in mind the OE Bridgestone SO2's have odd sizes. Their "205" is closer to most 195's and their "225" is a near match for almost every 245 out there. So, a 40mm difference in stagger is fine - and even then you should be able to rotate it.
I'd heed Ian's suggestion and go get a proper alignment. You should be able to keep a 225 on the front and run a (depending on brand & model) 255-265-275 on the rear [note that some 275's will rub w/o the right offset].
The only other thing I can think of is that someone lubed your front sway bar bushings with superglue. :P
If you want a "mild" alignment that's still alot better than the OE one, search S2Ki for "U.K. alignment". That's where I started. It's now very aggressive but eats up front tires on the street (toe-out hurts, not neg. camber).
If you ever need some help at an autocross just ask. You'll probably only see two silver S2000's running at any given event but either of us would be a good instructor for you.

Thanks a lot oversteer ill try the different sizes
hopefully when i get my wide body my tires will be 19X12 in the rear
and 18X10 in the front let me know if that would be a good set up

Why on earth would you want to put wheels that big on a car with that little torque???? Do you want to be slow?
OversteerS2K
03-05-2005, 04:54 PM
19X12R ?
Wow, you'll need a supercharger just to negate the weight effects.
It'll look pretty sweet, though.
Whatever you can fit up front, w/o rubbing, add about 40-50mm for the rears. You'll have a very limited choice of decent rubber in 19" sizes.
Be careful in the rain with the 225's all around. It's a recipe for disaster - but probably a good drifter.
