Need help with amps & subs!

OK, i'm putting together a system for my g/fs car, nothing fancy, and i need some help. First off, i figured i'd go with this Audiobahn sub/box combo:

Now i need help with what amp to choose. Should i get a Mono or 2-channel amp? I'm not looking to spend a ton of cash, maybe $100 max. I don't know anything about that ohm, bridged, RMS stuff.

yea, um, i don't have any clue as to what they're saying on that site. I know NOTHING about stereos. What is wrong with audiobahn or bandpass? I'm not looking for competition quality or anything, just alittle more bump.

I dont expect you to go buy stuff like some of us have..but audiobahn is like a kia with 20's. It will work, but you should be worried about it breaking down constantly.

Aduibahn quliaty control is all over the map, and their products leave a lot to be deisred.

I have alpine in my 03 cobra, all the same parts for 6 years, i moved it from 2 other cars...Dont buy cheap because you will end up buying 2 or three times. I never have any problems..Kenwood, Alpine, Fosgate, Kicker, Zapco..are some great companies to look into..good luck

From what you have posted so far, check out profile amps at www.thezeb.com . Mine have worked flawlessly in my car for over a year. Hell the way I have one mounted I would expect it to overheat actually, but no problems at all. As for subs what do you want out of this system? Very tight bass or do you want it real loud and hit hard? If you want it to hit hard for pretty cheap checkout kicker CVR's and put them in a ported box. If you want tighter bass, look into Image dynamics or Elemental designs and put them in a sealed box. Some decent cheaper speakers would be most any of Infinitys lineup if you want better highs/mids. And headunits I'd go with alpine, eclipse, pioneer, kenwood or clarion. Just ask before you buy because theres alot of places online that you can get stuff cheaper.

I think its because they are promoted at shows alot. Never heard anything good really about them.

my opinion go with sealed box... that is a smaller box with great sound quality

and depending on the car go with either 10s or 12s
I have 2 10" JL Audio 10w0 picked em up for 95$ a piece great deal and even better sound... ABSOLUTELY amazing sound quality

and i got a Bazooka ELA300.1 300W Mono amp from circuit city for 80$

all that with a fiberglass enclosure has my car sounding great.

i get decent stuff from my car audio accounts i still have from when i owned my shop. my cell is 813 892 6992 if u still want some equipment.

yea its a shame that people dont want sound quality any more.
i built my last system for spl. it sounded decent but it was centered around bass.
my new system i am building is for sq. its a hard and expensive road for great sq but well worth it

besides going the road for sq... keeps it quieter on the outside of the car, which keeps it from turning the heads of cops
