Qk Ive done alot of things specifily for drifting including coilovers, smaller stock rims, welded diff and a strut bar. But when I drift I constantly have to clutch kick to keep the drift going. I mean with a ka its fun and I know you dont need alot of power to drift but Im asking people with high hp is it easy to control, with soo much power cause you have to fight with a ka to keep the tires loose and with say a 250 whp car would be able to keep them spinning constantly and u can just keep turn after turn going but me its clutch kick...break loose... clutch kick again keep them loose then bam! grip out of no where. Do have any suggestions on how to keep a consistant drift going like weight transfer or anything? Please no bashing i am simply asking for tips
dude.. you will get the hang of it one day. just go fast. ka will do a good job for drifting. you just cant make as wide of angles.

turbo does make life a whole lot easier on yourself, however opposite is true for the life of the car. I need new motor. :lol:

Hit up places that sell used tires. The great ones have often been sitting out in the sun for a few months and are baked to a nice hard consistancy.

some tires that work great on my n/a KA;
1) sigma regents
2) used michelin MXV4 plus, hell any used 60 series or lower michelin works great
3) kumho HP3 all season H rated

If you need crap tires I might be able to get you some what size wheels are you running, I can definatly get 16s and 17s, 15s are a little harder to come by. Oh yea try raising the air pressure way up that helps me I run 35psi front and 48psi rear.

Practice is the key. I have a single cam KA and after alot of practice I can make it do what I want. KA's are pretty tough, don't be afraid to put it up near the redline. It sounds to me like going faster might help alot. Good Luck

KA's have alot of torque and a good powerband, so just keep it in the powerband and just stay on it. I always get the kick back but its just part of it, i figured out why i was getting the kick back was from taking too sharp of turns, try nice long wide turns and you'll get it. As a matter of fact if u live in the st. pete area, go down into Old northeast st. pete and go to the ummm......i forgot what its called, it looks like the venoy and has a huge golf corse, ne ways in the front of the place theres this huge "island" as people call it and thats were i practice some times, its just a really rich neighborhood so just do a couple slides and leave and come back later......

i've learned on a single cam, and still am 5 years later...you'll never know everything, every session you'll learn either a certain entry speed, or rpm range, etc... Suspension is key, and thats cool that you got that out of the way, and as you progress, you can buy the header, rom tune, and 370cc's from Bill...
My favorite NA drift setup was my single cam, header, rom tune, 370cc's, Nismo cam, Aluminum flywheel, Stage II clutch, heavy ass pressure plate, on 17's, and decent suspension.

power has nothing to do with it. its torque, suspension...and most of all-driver skill. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE....good luck phil
