Had the Z on the dyno today and was fairly impressed with the outcome. Put down 278 HP and 380 Trq. On a 50 shot was at 315 and just under 425 for torque. Does this sound about right for the car. 140,xxx miles, longtubes, hooker y-pipe,TB, programmer, AFPR, SS hood and ram air intake?

Nice torque! I have no idea on the #'s though .. I would have thought them to be a little higher, what dyno was this on?

Dyno jet at RaceRelated. I was impressed with the torque but was kinda hoping the Hp was going to be a little higher

only 278 without NOS? I thought it had about 285 stock?!!
GTman85

LT1 is only 275 stock to the crank. So do the math. 141.xxx mile and basic bolt-ons. Im happy. Look at the torwue though

What was the A/F ratio.
Is the car running really rich.
There is like a 100 more lb ft of torque over HP.
That just doesnt look right.
Is the car a automatic?

Air/fuel was at 12.41, so a little lean. Car went only a little lean when i sprayed. So for now ive added a bigger fuel jet and changed plugs. The car is a 6-speed

this is a dry nos kit right? if so, those numbers were right on par, esp if you dont have a bottle heater to get the pressure up to 1100 psi

This is a NOS wet kit. No bottle warmer. I sat in the back of the car with a heat gun getting pressure while James at RR made my pulls

1) thats ghetto and not really that smart
2) i am sure your bottle pressure wasnt that high. wet likes 1200 psi.

what jets are you running for n2o and fuel?

96 model rolled out with 285- thats pretty damn good numbers with the kind of miles and no upgrades

You can figure about a 15-17% drivetrain loss from the flywheel to the rear wheels.
Figuring a 16% loss on gtman's car that would equate to 322hp at the crank. 40hp from those mods is very reasonable especially with the high mileage.

6 speed lt1's dyno around 250-256
so exhaust/intake sounds bout right
you gained alot of torque wtf did you get your peak powers at?

ok.....Well it was the only thing we could do to get pressure. cant afford for a bottle heater at the moment. 19 yr old kid with a decent car, bills and court fees kinda take away my money. Im not sure on the peak power rpm. Ill have to look at the sheet. Formula ill check. I know fuel solenoid is a .28. Was .22 but upped it alittle. Will check the nitrous

i got a stock '96 6-speed and i put down 265 hp and 305 tq. your hp is kinda low, especially with longtubes, but your tq is really high. i would of guessed the opposite with the longtubes...get your pcm reprogrammed. your a/f is lean, and if u want to continue using N20, i would suggest getting more fuel before it goes boom

Very nice numbers man. Glad to hear your n2o kit is working pretty good for you. You should get over to Revxtreme and have jeremy tune that thing for you.

he has a 94, all 93-95 were rated at 275 vs 96-97 rated at 285
so technically there should be roughly a 10 hp difference between you 2

Air fuel was at 12.4. So it was al little lean
gator
01-30-2005, 12:29 PM
12.4/1 isnt lean at all. esp if those readings were through the tailpipe and you have cats.
TheShow50h

From what I hear RR's dyno reads slightly leaner than it actually is.
12.4:1 is perfect. I'd consider that a little rich on an n/a tune.

I wonder why im getting a fuel cut. Or what kinda cut. Could it be plugs, fuel pressure what? Its at 5,000 rpm at WOT

i have a 93, and dynoed 260/300 bone stock. with 150k...and that torque number seems really high. but for comparison, bone stock w/ 75 shot jetting, i put down 322/375, 125shot did 364/419

High even with basic mods that ive got? Oh well tonight the fuel pump went. Key on, no reading to the gauge and i couldnt here the pump running. Dont know if thats why i was getting a cut. Maybe it was gonig bad :dunno: Would stock replacement be ok or would it be wise to upgrade? I guess i know the answer to that but will a stock 1 hold the power
Sneakin Deacon

no, stock wont hold it. mod cheap, mod twice. you can get a racetronix fuel pump setup from RevXtreme i believe. its what i have. 255lph HP walbro and rewire...

i paid ~245 for the racetronix kit, the walbro itself, i believe, is around 130
GTMan,
The TQ #s are incredible. My '94 went 265hp/310tq with the same mods except the longtubes. I wasn't too pleased, so I corrected that problem.

I was very pleasesd woth the TQ #'s too. On and off the spray. HP was a little low in my eyes but expect the unexpected i guess. Fuel pump goes in today and a 75 shot too. THen to James at RR for another baseline on the 75

Nice TQ numbers. They seem a bit high with those mods, but take what you can get.
With the LT4 setup I had, LT's, TB, ported heads and intake I only put down 356 TQ. HP looks about right with that high of a milage engine.
I am impressed.

Now that I think about it when my bro had his sprayed sn95 on RR's dyno it spiked a couple times and read 700 some odd lbft of torque when he was only making about 400.

Ya mine spiked and went to 596 TQ. So i just made another pull on the spray
