My first time ever running at a track last night. Wanted to do a stock run in the specV before I start tuning it.
Well, wheel hop owned me!! I actually had to reduce throttle then get back on it. I was hearing from a few ppl that the track was prepped terribly but I have nothing to compare it to. I wasn't nervous at all, but I was excited. My launch was horrible IMO. I NEED MOTOR MOUNTS
Anyways, wanted to share my 1st experience with you, comments welcome.

82mph in the 1/4? That seems a bit low for a 69mph 1/8th .. at least I think so. Miss a gear or something? I think I ran like 92-93mph with a 70mph 1/8th a couple years ago. I had a friend just go out and run a 15.3 or so at 92 in a new spec v with a muffler.
Good run, definately looks like there's lots of room for improvement.

You definately just need alittle more practice. You should be able to drop atlleast .5 sec in that car with more practice.

It was hooking great at first, but at like 9 it got slippery.

Just get some more practice and those times will come down man. If you can shave a tenth or more off of that 60' youll be on your way. It definitely seems like you missed a gear up top though. I mean in my best run in the automatic was a 16.002 @ 84.4. My times were almost identical to yours until you get to the 1000 foot mark where you have 2 tenths on me, but then it drops to 1 tenth at the finish.

thanks guys.
as far as my 82mph... all I can think of, is they spent like 30-45 minutes trying to clean something on the track shortly before my run. when I got twards the end of the track during my run, it felt like I hit gravel. it sounded like pebble's were slamming all underneath my car, or like I hit a piece of glass and it shattered underneath my car. I instinctively let off the pedal somewhat, thinking something just went wrong w/ my car. Its gotta be that.
all in all not a good run by the #'s but I had fun and learned by doing it. I'm sure if I would have ran again the time would have been better. I'll be going again ASAP
if my reaction time was a .909, does that mean if it was a .000 I'd have hit a 14.9?
Thanks Adam (djkomplex) for everything!

Negative. Your reaction time has no bearing on your e.t. . the time clock doesnt start until your tires break the beams.
