quick question on ext. camera mounts

What does the SCCA rulebook and or is there a ruling on external camera mounts?

good question! on a sidenote, i've used a large variety of cameras stuck on my car and no one's ever said anything.

It says... Video cameras must be securely mounted if installed.

I guess it's up to the safety steward to determine what a secure mount is. I would say that a suction mount would not be considered a secure mount. Maybe if it was used with a tether.

Sunction mounts are very secure acutally and thats how most are mounted anyway. The mount I will probably be using uses 4 really large sunction cups. And to be honest, you can pull with all your strength and it wont let go.

But I will ask at the next event when I use it
