I'm in the market for a new racing suit for 2005.
Companies I've been looking at
Stand21
Sparco
Simpson
Impact!
I'm looking for personal experiences with any of these. My Sparco Model 5 that I have (2004 year, SFI 5) has torn on me, and is not correct color scheme for my 2005 race team, I'm looking for something that is a little bit higher quality, and possibly a build to fit option.
For helmets I"m looking at
Stand21
Sparco
Impact!
Peltor
Simpson
Bell
Thanks in advance.
If you are true baller you look at OMP like most rally drivers/Formula one. Hahaha. If its comfortable for them, imm sure it will meet your standards.

Have you considered SafeQuip?
SafeQuip is owned by Tim Lee, a long time CFR member, and former owner of HiFi Hospital and HiFi Racing in Tampa.
SafeQuip manufactures suits and belts. Tim also sells many other products.

I saw Tim today at Moroso Motorsports Park in West Palm. He showed me a new helmet that HJC has just come out with, a Snell SA2000 certified helmet. It looks real nice, $389.00. Tim told me that helmets with the new SA2005 certification will not be available until October.
I use a HJC AC10 M2000 helmet and I love it. It is very light in weight.
Tim also had a sale on Pyrotech high top shoes, sizes 6 to 9 1/2 for $49.00 (reg $99.00)

safequip is good. . .but i love my sparco.
and try looking at Gforce helmets. thats what i've got, and in my case i find their fitment much comfier. i may just have a strangely shaped head, though.
and impact! as a name for safety equipment. . .scares me.

Well, wahtever helmet i have to get neesd to have the HANS stuff on it.
Looks like I'll be going to bell for a helmet. they seem pretty reasonable.
stand21 more than likely for the gloves, and it looks like i'll get another sparco racing suit.

get your stuff fast, and get it out to hans quick. they're extremely busy right now. like a three week minimum waiting period once they get your stuff.
i still vote for my gforce- and it has hans on it.

I love my G-Force helmet, but the suit sucks, haha. I'm poor as hell though, so it's all good. The suit is thick as hell though so I'll definately survive a fire, even if I stay in the car for shits. I was told that you can modify any helmet yourself for a HANS so I wouldn't worry about that. G-Force helmets are for champs...haha.

Yeah, you can modify your helmet yourself to install the HANS, it's not that big of a deal. I'll treat it like drilling into an engine block, just be very careful, measure twice, cut once. Anybody local that can have me fitted for a HANS ?

none that i know of. we sent out for everything straight to hans themselves- we just got my dad's new helmet back from them a week ago. took a month.
i just got a sparco suit. i wanted stand21, but it was too much.
