Mustang vs civic si

I was on my way to pick up my sister in law in seffner. I pull up to a stop light and a senior citizen in a 2000 body style mustang gt convertible pulls up next to me, light goes green and with no notice gramps lights it up. I start out a car behind off the line, pop second hard and pull up to his door, ease in third and we are side by side. Put it in forth and I'm a car and a half in front and let off, pull up to the next light and he won't even look over. Still threw him the thumps up and turned around, nice kill on a stock automatic convertible gt. Not to bad for a I/E ep civic si. :lol:

It might be hard to believe on paper but at the track ive seen both cars run high 15's stock(ep si's and stock 4.6 gt's)I'm saying gramps car was a stock auto and chris can drive the civic.My old fwd talon had maybe 180-200 whp and could destroy I/E 5.0's and 4.6's.:D

I can drive the ep, I have beaten older gt's from a dig :jawdrop:4.6s and 5.0s. I know that v8 stangs are quick and I love the all mighty 5.0 that is why I am still dumping money in the lincoln for my sleeper build.

I'm not going to jump to any conclusions, because I have no idea what you have done to your car. But, from the way you have explained things, it seems like you probably don't have much. I recall someone saying something about Gt's running high 15's in the quarter. :roll: I'm telling you right now, if you raced an automatic 2000 mustang GT and he was a car ahead of you from the line, you would have lost miserably. If you really did beat a mustang, it was a v6. The automatics will run 16's which would make perfect sense how your SI could pull on it through 2nd and third gear. GT's on the other hand, will run mid 14's (Automatics). Think about it, do you really think there is a 2 sec difference between an auto and a manual? We all know 00 GT's are capable of low 14's stock, easy (Manuals). An automatic is not going to run a high 15 and you didn't say anything about him spinning. It was an auto, more of a reason how you would have not won. He couldn’t have screwed up. With all the torque that car has, he would have left you pretty bad with a car start and you would have never caught up. Unless you have a lot of mods done to your car and you run low 14's, this calls for :bsflag:

P.S. The reason why I said low 14's, is because you would need to run something like that in order to pull him from a car length back. Thanks for playing, have a nice day. ;)

The reason i state what i state is not in ignorance.Ive raced a bolt on 00+ gt with my old crx and the race was very close(i won by maybe a fender,he initiated the race) and my best pass on the motor was 16.1@89.I raced a older modded dohc cobra FROM A STOP and the race wasnt even worth it(i was turboed)Needless to say i have respect for mustangs but stock for stock they really arent shit.I could go on and on about when ive raced mustangs but its pointless.Theres a video of a 89 mirage walking several mustangs on here.Watch it and tell me it didnt happen.

seriously, not to start a flame war but for every Honda (spray, turbo, supercharged, all motor, etc) in the 12's I'll see atleast 10 all-motor mustangs in the 12's

don't think that a car with almost 3x the cubes, 2x the hp, and only 1000-/+lbs doesn't have the same, if not better all motor potential of a honda

Come on man, this is completely different. The mustang you raced was an automatic. Mustangs may not be "shit" to you stock, but they are faster than your car. A lot faster in fact, so I don't understand. You just said in a previous post that you "know" GT's are faster than your car. Now your saying there not shit stock. Well, I have news for you. An auto GT is in the 14's and if your not running low 14's, you couldn't have beat him like that. I'm telling you, something happened that hasn't been mentioned. I won that is all. I have beaten other mustangs with this same car. A 96 gt with intake and exhaust 5speed, and a 98 stock gt. I ran a high 15 at the track with a bad clutch and 2.4 60 foot with bald tires, new tires on now and a fresh clutch. I know plenty about mustangs and know that the can lose races, this is the first import I have ever had. I have owned six fords in the past with 5.0s and have a seventh 5.0 that I am building now. I am not some stupid 16 year old that knows nothing about domestics.

you suck at being realistic, being realistic means that just because something goes one way on paper, its going to go the same way in real life....would you like a link to a 1000 rwhp supra racing a 1200 rwhp supra, both 6 speed, and the lesser powered car beating the higher powered car by over one second, both full weight cars?? under your ideals, the 1200 rwhp supra should have walked the 1000 rwhp regardless of any circumstance....

Sorry, I was just trying to prove that the win didn't make any sense to me. The mustang is faster, you had a car length head start and still won. Didn't make much sense, but you know I really don't care. In this case, nice job on the win. If you beat another one, be sure to post it. I would like to hear more stories and I won't question you. It's not worth it...Sorry for the hassle.
