actually try to race the NSX on a road course with curves where it was meant to be driven and you will understand why its a super car.

not everything is about a straight line.

the viper's straight-line power should make up for it's sloppiness in the turns

I thought the SRT-10 Viper pulled higher skidpad numbers and slalom numbers than the NSX...

myltwon
01-10-2005, 08:07 PM
not sure I haven't checked the newer ones, I just remember the
old ones having "less than desirable" cornering

I would rather have a viper than an nsx even if the nsx handled
better, because it's not too often I come across curvy
mountainous roads in tampa

Doubt it , not better than the real Japanese NSX anyway, maybe the watered down ACURA RSX

not the Honda NSX

Apparently your either giving the NSX way too much credit or not enough for the Viper. From everything I have read the Viper is every bit the handling car that the NSX is if given to a driver that can control it.

"There was a time, not too long ago, when everyone was impressed with cars that were nearing 1 g of lateral acceleration, and reaching 60 mph in five seconds flat. The ’03 Dodge Viper SRT-10 has once again exceeded these standards, with performance parameters that surpass most road race cars from only a few years back. With 500 hp and 525 lb-ft of torque produced by its 500ci V-10 engine, 0-60 times are estimated to be under four seconds, with a skid-pad number of 1.15 g’s. If you’ve never experienced that level of dynamics, imagine sitting on the door, instead of in the seat, and you’ll get the idea. The first batch of these new cars is already sold out, which in effect makes them collectible before their October on-sale date. The sticker price has been raised to $79,995, plus $800 for delivery, and although that is certainly a lot of Franklins, you’ll need two to three times that much to find a car that will equal it. Of course, the next question concerns the release of the new Viper coupe, and like its predecessor, it will be faster than the roadster. If this is so, wow!"

is this the Acura one or the Honda one, the japanese usually get better one

but I do believ ethe ACURA NSX is not as good performance wise as the Honda NSX, either way eh, I would take either if it was free.

people used to hate on my buddies Dodge Lancer Shelby 2.5 Turbo back in 88 and that was some pretty good performance for the buck back then too...
